SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

Oh God, again?

Not getting enough interest in your thread you need to try and shove people towards it?

Nobody needs to prove anything to you.

Doubtful it's stable? Maybe politely ask if they have tested XYZ and if they haven't or don't care about XYZ, then let them be.

There's no need to be so God Damn obnoxious about it.

Who do you think you are talking to you obnoxious little man, IF I deem my system to be stable by running a number of stress tests, realbench, cinibench and cpuz stress and have no crashes while gaming or stressing and the temps are running where I am comfortable, then that's good enough for me! I have nothing to prove to someone like YOU! So run along little doggy run along.

Ok thanks for clarifying. :)

It was just a request...No problem.

3.8 @ 1.2v is amazing!

Have fun running prime!! Great game that.

Oh and it only proves your system can run prime so it's a waste of time.

It proves your CPU can calculate properly under load....

I've overclocked for many years....

Gaming stable is not Video editing stable

FACT....

Not having a go ....Just saying...

If your CPU fails to calculate Prime numbers then its not doing its job....

Just like overclocking a GFX card.... In windows its fine....Stress it you get artefacts...errors...

In the past when I've OC'd, I've got my CPU stable in Prime, Intel IBT and RealBench and then of all things BF4 would lock up. No other game would do it just BF4. It was definitely the OC because switching BIOS profiles would remove the problem.

Basically from now on I I'm just going to run Cinebench or Realbench for temp and volt monitoring and the fire up BF1 for the main stability test, if it passes a week of BF1 for gaming for an hour or so a night then as far as I am concerned its done.

Basically, everyone has their methods geared to what they use the PC for, Prime doesnt indicate any real world use really

Yeah been there worn the T shirt...

You had a failed overclock...

I don't want my PC to crash when rendering 4K go pro footage....

Ryzen sounds amazing if I can run 3.9 ghz @ 1.2v

Hahahahahaha this^^^^^^It also proves you are a bit of a muppet for sitting for hours watching it do nothing, when you could be doing much better things with your computer

You run it overnight...

Also you can use your PC while running it....why not try and post your results? :)

Exactly.... Use the dam thing... Now all major controllers are on the die prime is showing nothing.

Gaming is showing nothing other than the PC can run a game....

Doing a 2 pass encode in Premier pro is another matter...

What games out stress all cores @100% none....

I've not seen any in my testing...

Its pretty simple...

Run Prime stock

Rune Prime overclocked

Both should pass.

I think the point here is we all stress test in a way that suits our own workload the best.

As many people have pointed out (and my experience in close to 10 years of overclocking) prime stable doesn't necessarily mean its gaming stable, but on the flip side neither prime or gaming stable means an overclock is stable when you present it with a different workload either.

IMHO if you primarily game, use that as your stability indicator. If you do a load of heavy work loads such as Encoding then use the real bench handbrake test loops for 8 hours

Amen.

When I overclock the CPU and boots in windows a run of Firestrike Extreme and two consecutive runs on multithread Cinebench are more than enough.
It will show if is stable during the normal usage week. :)

Good for you

For me its not....I need to be confident I can leave a batch encode of go pro 4k footage running overnight...
