Some Serious Hardware!!

not a big fan of the Mr Refer to Himself in the 3rd person myself, it's not his work, it's him.

yes he has some fancy equipment, but like a lot of the well known names, they seem to mainly just press the shutter button and let others do the rest of the work.

I am not sure how that is irrelevant to his workflow/back up set up.

I do want it though !!! That server seems sweet !

...Does the world revolve around Apple products?

not really just a personal preference thing, also last i heard apple were phasing out apple servers for example so i'd like to see him get ongoing support for those :D (the 2 we had were never amazingly reliable either, and always overheating)

He does come across as a bit of a Douche but some of his work is amazing and he goes pretty in depth in some of his other videos about techniques etc. But my god apple over load :O all looks pretty snazzy though

on another point, how does anyone do any reliable photo/design work on those glossy screens? we've got a floor of mac users, they all have glossy screens and whenever i have to go and fix something all i can see is a reflection of myself.

Absolutely not. Anything worth its salt is done on Eizo Coloredge's, usually CG211s as they're the main standard.

This is exactly what a mac user wants though, nothing better than stairing at their own awesome self-reflection all day. Also handy for sorting out their makeup and hair before they go to starbucks.:D

Wow, what an Apple fanboy that Chase Jarvis is. Agree with the sentiment to make multiple backups, but I'm sure there's a more cost-efficient way of doing just that ( or maybe he's being sponsored by Steve Jobs ? ).

When you see some of the clients he has done work for and how big his actual team is that works for and around him I think its safe to say he isn't exactly tight on money!

If he likes Apple and can afford it then saving money won't be his main concern. It has nothing to do being a fanboy, more of keeping everything under the same make for ease of use.

P.s. Would you call someone a MS fanboy because use windows solely?

Fanboy comments aside iniital cost is not always the driving force behind a tech solution, having everything from a single or limited vendors means less compatibility issues, easier to support, and reduced amount of people to deal with which in the long run can end up being much cheaper.

Its nice to see a company that takes backups and redundancy seriously, I know many larger companies that are no where near that organised.

Very slick.

I wonder what their plans are to replace the Xserves? Apple were only going to supply HDs until the end of this year (or if supplies ran out before that).

Why does it matter?

He can afford it and it works.

Why do people have issues with people with Apple kit?

I have a Mac Pro, so what?
