Someone is using my email address

Additionally, I just got an email with a support chat transcript and as part of the chat he's been asked to confirm his details including his email address... He's entered my email address! He's actually entered it twice during the chat, so it can't be a typo.

Now I'm wondering how he can possibly think that's his email address if he hasn't actually logged into it?

Honestly, some people are just dumb/careless and will make the same error repeatedly even after you've contacted them to let them know.

One guy was even adamant he'd got my-email address (I'd been CC'd along with some other business address belonging to him) and was kicking off - gmail dot issue confused it too... what had actually happened is he'd registered a firstnamelastname address and made a typo somehow missing off the first letter...

so his took the format "owielastname@gmail" vs my "dowie.lastname@gmail" and he was angry that I was "getting e-mails without the dot".

I can't believe this, he's only gone and did it again - signed up for another gambling site using my email. He deposited £10 a few hours after I locked him out the other account.

How is he getting access initially without being able to verify email? And why is he even doing this?

That's him locked out this one, too. Plus, I've enabled 2fa so he'll get a text telling him it's enabled.

Have you emailed him yet to tell him he's a clown.
I'm considering it, but is it worth it? It's an inconvenience to me but it's a bigger inconvenience to him.

Is there any way to send an email or text anonymously, just to inform him that he's broadcasting his personal and financial details?

Why anonymous?

It's only a quick email to say "I'm the real slim shady Dirk Diggler, be careful typing your email in future because a lot of your stuff and accounts are getting sent to me"

Because he's demonstrated questionable decision making qualities and the danger is the conversation could quickly get out of hand.

Someone is something creek USA bought a Subaru car and used my email address.

Clearly just gave them the wrong email must have been similar.

Didn't worry me really.

I've been getting someone's ferry booking confirmation emails for 10 years. Its taken a huge amount of will-power not to click the helpful 'cancel booking' link in the emails...

Yesterday I received an email from Best Buy Canada and today from Walmart Canada thanking me for creating an account. I received further emails from both retailers confirming orders I hadn't made. I have been using my email address for over 20 years. This other guy using my email has the same first and last name as me according to the invoices I was sent.

If this happened once then it could have been a simple error but to happen twice has got me a little concerned. I chatted online to a Walmart agent who confirmed the email address they have on file is the same as mine but all he said he could do is forward it to the relevant team and wouldn't give me anymore info.

Should I be concerned?
Change password, enable 2FA using Google Auth.

Don’t use text message 2FA, a simple sim swap can bypass that.

Since this thread has been posted I have had two emails addressed to me that have nothing to do with me - I had loads a year or so ago and contacted the sender to confirn email address and it stopped - Now it looks like its on again with the last one from Walmat and written in Mexican.
I just send them to spam

this is first paragraph.

It's staggering what I'm reading here. Someone who is old enough to use gambling sites (18+) should be mindful on what they're typing in for their email address. Also, the internet has been mainstream since the mid-90s, so if they're 18, or even 28, then the internet has been around for their entire life.
