Something needs to change next season

Is Flamini still planning on leaving at the end of the season? i havent heard much about it the last few weeks
 
The Flamini situation is odd, he's been offered double what he has now but I think he still wants more.

I think since Fabregas has been all over the news with his new £100,000 contract, a few players have thought, why is he getting that? I want that! Namely Adebayor and Flamini, although Flamini has been the perfect professional and got on with the football and Adebayor hasn't ..

I really hope Flamini stays as he's developed a fantastic combination with Fabregas, quite sure he will stay.
 
To be honest i don't know what all the doom and gloom is about.

Teams throw away leads, in games and in the league all over the place. It's something that happens and is part of the sport.

The fact that were good enough to lead the premiership, and be in the CL quarter's speaks volumes for the quality of the team.

i do however agree that we lack depth. There is no doubt that cesc is tired.

I do question replacing the whole team though!

Wenger has repeatedly criticised the DEFENCE. But you do you replace?
Sagna - no
Clichy - no
Toure - no
Gallas - ?

That would be my controversial change. I would drop Gallas, not sure who I would make captain, maybe Flamini. I do think that Gallas has been average all season, and that him and Toure don't make a good pairing.

I would get another winger, purely because Rosicky gets injured a lot. Further, i would get another striker. With RvP's injury record, and no one knowing precisely when Eduardo will be back, we cannot have Bendtner and Adebayor as our first choice.

More to the point, is that when players fight for their place, they play better.

Lehmann and Gilberto should be the only departures. My fear is that Flamini will as well.

Who knows what will happen. But it's important to remember that the team is quality, and has the quality to beat anyone.
 
Vela will compete with RvP next season.

As for Wenger repeatedly criticising the defence, I don't think he has at all until recently? When Arsenal's defence is Sagna Toure Gallas and Clichy I really don't see a problem. Its when Senderos comes into the equation that things get dangerous!
 
He won't be relied on, he'll be backup for RvP. Obviously that means he will get a fair few games under his belt since RvP is injured half the time, but I can see him being involved next season rather than a new forward brought in.
 
I think a new goalkeeper is a must. Almunia doesn't make too many mistakes, but neither does he ever look like a match winner in the way that really great goalkeepers do.

I see us signing a young up and coming forward over the summer.

Big ade nd flamini will both stay

How people can say the team doesnt have experience i dont know, they have all played in 4 big competitions for the last few seasons and a lot for even longer than that.

Most of the young players are also involved in internationals
 
What annoys me is how close we are to being an exceptional squad instead of a good one.

A genuine winger (make Hleb first choice left winger cause Rosicky cannot be relied upon), a defender that can play all across the back, quality back-up for Cesc and an established goalkeeeper is what we need.

I believe Wenger has already stated he'll be here next season, his been on loan for 3 seasons and playing in La Liga so I don't think he need more experience. (Wiki suggests they have the option on another year loan)

Hleb is far better on the right.

Aye i read that Wenger said he'd be fighting for a first team place next season.
 
If I recall correctly Wenger even said that Vela would be straight in to the first team squad and would have a big part to play in next season.
 
We need people to jump in and do a job though, just look how long it took Clichy for example to be first team standard. Maybe 1 of them will slot in like Cesc did but it's pretty unlikely.
 
Another season ends for Arsenal (according to their fans) and it's another chance for many to say that you still haven't got the spine in the squad that'll win you the PL or CL, you've got the talent though that's for sure.
You've pretty much always had enough goals in your side but your defensive backbone has been weak for a while now so maybe it's time to learn something from the boring, boring Arsenal days if you want to win something:)
