sonic weapons used in G20 protest

The effects of it cannot really be conveyed through a crappy microphone and it does not effect everyone the same either.

We actually have one on the side of a building across the road, load as hell but I can walk past it fine, other people I know literally can't without moaning it hurts/vibrates their head to bits :p

I'd be intrigued to see what the OP's stats look like if you compared the number of posts he's started versus the number of words he's used to start them. They're typically short, uninforming pieces of anti-government nonsense. Anyone up to the stats task? :)

yes they did, and there are many types of sonic sounds, does it have to burst your ear drums, or can it just be just annoying.
and here is a definition
sonic

adj

of, involving, or producing sound,
Latin sonus sound

So after the dreama in the OP... if I get a plastic pen tube, load it with spitpaper, and fire it at police... does that mean I can make a thread titled: "OMG man attacks police with ballistic weapons" and then post a link to the definition of "ballistic" when people tell me how much of a melodramatic **** i'm being.

Regardless of how affluent the area of London is where you live, you are still an epic, epic twit.

generally the term "weapon" and "just annoying" arent usually linked.

To quote "A weapon is a tool used to apply force for the purpose of hunting, attack, self-defense, or defense in combat."

After all, a shotgun firing beanbags is non-lethal, yet it is most definitely still a weapon.

A sonic cannon doesn't have to do anything other than disperse people to be effective - it did disperse people, therefore it worked.

Personally I am not sure if a loud siren really counts as a sonic cannon.

Possibly quite true - but remember a water "cannon" is often used in dispersal scenarios, and it is nothing more than a high pressure directional hose. The semantics aren't really the issue here - the "cannon" worked as intended.

and no one has a problem with a water canon, same way no one should have a problem with all 3 videos.
