Sony HT-G700

Use this as a guide for what sub you will need

Room effects speaker but the Dali Oberon do have a increased treble output there is sweep of them .

Had a listen to the Oberon 5 and the Bronze 200, the latter has a little more clarity but feels more clinical and I reckon I would get some fatigue. The Oberon 5's are warmer and nicer to listen to for me. Dialogue is clear and the bass is actually fine for me, although it was a much smaller room compared to my living room.

Try some Q Acoustic 3050i. They're more neutral sound

Cheers, but they didn't have any to demo. Ended up with the Oberon 5's. Everything now wired up etc and very happy. I'm already getting greedy for surrounds etc lol

Only annoyance is the handing of HDMI inputs. When plugged into the AVR my TV remote can't select them and I have to use the AVR remote, but then once selected I have to switch back to my TV remote to actually control the selected device.

Ended up just connecting all the most commonly used ones directly to the TV and using eARC to the AVR. The less frequent stuff can be plugged directly into the AVR.

HDMI CEC can sort of make one remote functional for all, but I don't like it so I use these

Can control multiple devices, create your activity pages, send macros, link any button to any IR command etc

e-arc is fine but make sure your TV output can support all the codecs. Not all TV's output DTS. I had issues with E-ARC, so I just plugged everything into my av processor

I think it only supports Dolby codecs and not DTS. I used to use the Logitech Harmony remotes, although they could be a little confusing for some. Setup could be a little fiddly as well.

I'll have a look at that remote as I would prefer everything to go directly into the AVR, after all that was one of the points of having it.

Cheers

That means you won't get any DTS output, standard DTS, DTS HD, DTS X etc

Logitech harmony remotes servers are in the process, or have been shut off, so once that happens you have a brick.

I think URC makes new remotes, the one I linked to is a older model, I have four of them. MX editor is not available to download you have to "aquire" it, as it's custom installer only. They haven't updated software, so you would need original IR remote and learn the commands to it.

A couple of new remotes came out, sofabaton and couple of others but apparently not very good.

I'm tempted to just get an Nvidia Shield and then I can do away with the often clunky Firestick and also my little media player, which to be fair has been a fantastic little device (A95X F1). We hardly use the Blu-ray player or Xbox there (it's a spare) so it may be feasible to have it plugged directly into the AVR.

Got a lovely DALI Zensor Vokal heading my way for much cheapness. That leaves the subwoofer and surrounds.

You should buy a center from the same range, if you have Spektor L/R, get Spektor C. etc
