Sony loves Europe, this weeks Euro PSN Store update.

Probably £3.49. That is how much Wipeout and Crash Bandicoot the other ps1 games are which are already available.

The pricing on the UK store seems to be:

£3.49 for ps1 games
£1.99 for arcade ports

On US Store it is:

$5.99 for ps1 games
$4.99 for arcade ports.

The exception is that Castlevania game for ps1 which is $9.99 !!
Then Tekken 5 is $19.99 and only £6.99 for UK

All the other original games vary in price on both stores.

Overall I think the UK gets better pricing on PSN but ultimately we have to wait longer for the content.

Nintendo charge £5 for a SNES game on Wii Connect and even more for an N64 game.. doesnt even include online play for any older games and very few have been modified for 16:9 support.

In comparison, Nintendo REALLY are being a little greedy.

YES, before the trolls log on... I know its my choice to buy or not.

It looked to me like you came into this thread being Anti Sony, Which this forum is full of, which is a pain in the ass. If I'm wrong, then my comment

Was misplaced and I apologize. It still holds for 1 other member who likes to make his anti Sony flag known though.

If i was right though, then my comment was in response to you and this other member.

And how is that relevant to Joebob's comment about eventual 360/PS3 comparisions ?

Its relevant because all you've done is compare the 2 since you entered this thread. With what seems to be dislike for Sony.

Fine! Dislike sony if thats the case, But why does it get deemed necessary for the people who dislike them to enter every thread and post all over it saying so.

Meh, I'm bored now :p

I was heaping praise on Sony. The PSN offerings so far, as well as the pricing, is making Live look quite tame by comparision. You only have to look as far as Tekken 5 DR, as well as the first two batches of PS1 games all priced at a mere 3.50 quid to see that the PSN's content is already looking quite formidable even in its early slow-to-update stages. The fact that I like the PSN's content more than Live (despite Live having Symphony of the Night) is perhaps surreal, all things considered ;) If the pace continues, Microsoft will have a struggle on their hands.

Let's just hold hands and skip off into the sunset, we both agree to like the PSN content :p

All the PS1 games on the UK store can be transferred to your PSP and played n there fine. With regards to the PSN store on PSP, I agree they are taking a long time with that.

Yeah they kinda started it with yourpsp.co.uk's store so it will get there, but once they milk the PS3 as much as they can.

Do PS1 games look nice on a PSP? for example will wipeout 2047 look as good on the PSP as wipeout pure?

I don't want a PS3 but i really want to play my old PS1 games and this was half the reason i stumped up for a PSP.

Still got my fingers crossed for FF7/8 but 2047 is a great addition, i'd pay right now to have it on my PSP for tomorrows commute into work but Sony don't seem interested in my cash.

its 2097 you blasphemer, i think they should put vagrant story on there, then the game would finally get the praise it deserves, nobody i knew at the time had any idea that game existed

Vagrant Story is such a great game, paid 50 quid for it unsealed last month. If it appears on the PSN, maybe Squarenix will see how popular it really is and finally get around to making a sequel and tying loose ends up.

I have the first wipeout on psp (the one that is on the store already). It doesn't look as good as wipeout pure but it is just the ps1 game, no chnages have been made to it.

In general the games I have played on the psp from PSN are syphon filter, crash, wipeout all look great on the psp screen. The USA store has more ps1 games and so does the japanese store.

PS1 games on the PS3 are 100% originals, it doesn't have better graphics, no other options and no extra content so it is only for classics you would like to try again but can't be bothered to install a PS1 on your TV.

I downloaded Wipeout and Mortal Kombat but haven't really played it since then, the memory of the games was a lot better than they are today compared to recent games.

I am shocked you came into a PS3 thread and posted a negative comment.

But you will play PS1 games on your xbox 360?
I don't want to play PS1 games on anything.

Where did I say I would play them on my 360 and why would I say that?

I am glad Sony are doing this (variety and choice, and challanging Live are good for all of us, be it gamers in general or Pro Sony/Pro MS) but this is exactly why I am resisting downloading the old games - the memory of them is probably better than they actually were (obviously its hard to see the same game through the "same eyes" as you had then , but even just the gameplay - without considering audio & graphics- could be a let down)

This is the other reason why wii has disappointed - they are charging too much for older d/l games.

£3.50 for a game is real pocket money, and thats fine - but when it gets to a £5 for two generations old I just think they are taking the ........just my opinion though

In general I would agree that the VC pricing is off, but for example a copy of paper mario(N64) would cost me around £30 upwards on the bay but on VC it will cost me about £7? So sometimes it works out ok.

Well you have Castlevania SOTN and Worms on your played games on your Live tag, so you have played PS 1 games on your 360

afaik worms is a new game, based on the PSP version with upgraded graphics. Thats the thing about live arcade its actually new games (you can ignore the occasional classic) as supposed to paying for 2 generation old titles that you've probably played before, i dont get why they cost so much, surely it cant cost much to 'make' them. Id be quite happy to pay to play wipeout 2097 again as its a classic, but more like 1-2 quid.

Isn't worms more like worms on the PS1, but with less content?

according to ign

Take the old 2D Worms games, subtract most of the cool weapons and a few features, add in some network errors and you've got Worms on Xbox Live Arcade.

im not sure, i know its not worms 1 graphics, they were better than worms world party (the last proper worms title i owned) and there were less weapons than WWP, but im pretty sure there were more than 1. Regardless, it wasn't just a port.

I've never played a Castlevania game in my life, must've been my cousin when I lent him it.

As for Worms, I was trying that to see if it was any good since I was thinking of getting it for online, plus it's upgraded visually.

I think you was just being pedantic by saying that, it's obvious I meant that I don't want to get PS1 games to play on a modern console.
