Sony unlocks 70mb of additional Ram for devs

I always find it odd when people say 'who cares'. They are in a console forum, therefore the forum is populated by games enthusiasts. Hence, this is a reason to get excited for the enthusiasts on this forum.

Otherwise the only category people fall into tend to be trolls who can't form a decent argument.

On topic though. Recently sold my PS3 due to it getting no use as I am much more of a multiplayer games enthusiast and the PS3's releases tend to be single player.

Still, I watch with anticipation although for me to seriously consider another, there would need to be a new controller :p

As a "Gamer" You should be PLENTY used to the ps controller design and shouldn't let a small thing (That's been around for years) put you off of a console.

I simply sold my 360 because I struggled to find exclusive games that kept me interested.

I'd rather not use something that damages my hands. I have to use replacement triggers and stick extenders on the PS3.

Strange thinking that, the biggest console MP game is on the PS3, MAG with 256, and so is 60 player Resistance 2, I would say the PS3 has the best FPS MP game in Killzone 2 and the best TPS MP in Uncharted 2, but hey different strokes and all.
Back on topic, im sure this reduction has come from the early FW updates down to the current OS size, rather than in the last few months. I wonder if some of the size reduction is also down to some of it now being stored on the HDD rather than the Flash ?

Then there is actually something wrong with you

I don't know one person away from this forum who actually moans about the ps3 controller.

Hundreds, nay thousands of people moan about the PS3 controller. It's a 10+ year-old design that was fairly crap to start off with (imo). The key differentiator between the PS controller and others is that it's designed to rest on your fingertips, whereas a lot of people (me included) prefer something big and chunky you can grip in your palms (e.g. 360, DC, N64).

I would have loved to see the original PS3 "boomerang" controller come to fruition, but sadly I've learnt to live with the current pad... only practical shortcoming of the console imo :p

I've seen plenty who find it too small. it's not a perfect controller so here's some of the problems
slippy / bad triggers
too small for some
average d-pad (yes yes 360's is bad but PS3's is still only average)
too light (DS3 / sixaxis)
Not saying it's bad though. Great controller but none are perfect and I've heard plenty on Kotaku complain about it when talking about favourite controllers. I prefer 360 but that has it's problems too, analogues that wear a little, poor d-pad, too big for some etc. Also depending on whether you prefer the analogues how the PS3 has them or how the 360 has them you can find fault with either.

I understand the moaning about the psp. As that really is crippling. The ps3 controller has never given me, my friends, my gf, her brother, her dad, my dad, work mates.. any problems at all.

Not even a mention.

I maintain.. You people have problems :p

No the PS3 pad has the problems, again it's a great controller but just not perfect. People are used to it so don't notice the problems anymore since it's so passive but it's not the best controller in my opinion. 360 whoops it other than D-pad so they're about even to me.

D-pad on the 360 is way past bad lol, I don't like the fall on the 360 analogues either.

Anyway.. The controller isn't damaging your hands! or a good reason not to buy the console,

I bought a 360 and really hated the controller but just got on with it. Lack of exclusives I liked was only real reason I sold mine.

If you fancy taking anecdotes that far I work in a large office which makes heavy use of the PS3 on a day-to-day basis and I'd give you 50/50 odds that any given Sixaxis or Dualshock has an attached pair of "Real Triggers"

I've got used to it, like people say a good craftsman doesn't blame his tools. There's always an extent to how bad they can be but I play enough fighting games with it to have got used to it. It's really not that much worse than the PS3 one if you get used to it.

How can you hate the 360 controller  I understand not liking but hate is pretty strong, it's like meatier and more fleshed out dreamcast pad. I agree they should stick with the console if they simply don't like it but if it's damaging there hands then no point really if they don't find it worth the effort and have alternatives.

Mainly because I like to use D-pad for as much as I can, I find the analogues have a fall on them also. They fall into place, I really do hate it lol. But Never moaned about it and blamed it for me not enjoying a game etc.

I can't see how the controller can actually damage their hands, Unless they have really massive hands or something. I use the controller for hours and hours on end at times and have no problems,

If you need triggers you have no control over your fingers or have sweaty fingers lol.

All this is imo of course.. You people just seem to bite like mad when the topic comes up, I actually don't care lol. As I get on with it really well

No, I just have Western anatomical dimensions so Japanese oriented ergonomics (especially ancient Japanese ergonomics) just don't work with my man sized hands.

Edit: although I'm going way off topic here.

I have quite big hands, but I really like the PS controller. I didnt like the Xbox one, but thats just personal preference. We should all be still using Competition Pro 5000 joysticks and QAOP-Space anyway :)

They've not damaged my hands other than minor scrapes from the PS2 pad after long hours of tekken so I'm not one to ask about that.

I don't have sweaty fingers it's just they don't drop into anything so you push too hard and the smooth surface along with nothign to fall back on can allow your finger to slip off. Depends how you hold it and it can be accounted for though, its' rarely happened so not a big problem.

Like I've said I get on with both pads, I'm actually surprised when people say they dislike either as I find them very similar other than some minor differences (360 better triggers, PS3 better d-pad, size differences etc.).
