Sony Xperia 1 II - A return to form for Sony?

Been less than impressed with Sony tbh.
Free headphones off for a warranty repair - crackling in one side a common issue.
Camera Pro App often takes a photo, then crashes and doesn't even save the photo. This requires a phone restart to resolve as the camera won't work.
Chrome, closing a tab often freezes Chrome, to "fix" requires going to home screen the reopening the app.

Actually had exactly same problems with Xperia 1 (original) that I returned, that and lack of dynamic range in photos was really annoying.

How is the fingerprint reader on this model as I found it really bad on it too, S10e that replaced is great as one would expect from old style capacitive readers.

Again noticed that the phone has dropped signal. No idea how long for or when it happened. Airplane on and off sorted it.

Has this been a common issue? Don't know if it's a phone or sim issue as it seems so sporadic.

Just updated to Android 11. Now Google Assistant no longer responds unless in the Google app. Looked at the settings and Google Assistant says the device is not supported. Any ideas?

So I've come across an issue with the Xperia 1 ii when using it as a wifi hotspot. Evidently you cannot manually pick to use either 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz, it automatically switches between the two with no way of know how/when it will do so. Has anyone else come across this and does anyone know of any solution to this, even if it is a 3rd party app? I have an unlimited data tariff and this is my only internet source so I want to get the most out of it but evidently it is being restricted by using 2.4Ghz when (theoretically) 5Ghz is available as well.
Apologies if this has been raised here or in another thread but couldnt find anything when searching.

I've just received one of these from Amazon. But not particularly blown away with battery life. It seems the AOD drains the battery big time and there's no way to schedule this function ike you can with (for example) Samsung phones.

I went to bed 10pm with 26% and woke up with 6% at 6am.

I like the always on display function and find it very useful, any ideas or workaround's?

I have my AOD so its off when layed down, or in pocket and lights up when I lift it.
Have you tried that?

I play COD, other games, browse the net, Instagram, YouTube and lasts all day. Unless I really hammer it, might need a boost.

Not ideal, as above I appreciate the AOD and being able to see instantly any new notifications but I'll give it a whirl, cheers.

Battery may be poor in the first week or so, give it a week and check. Seen similar for other android devices.
