*** Sony Xperia Z5 ***

I've taken the plunge and got a Z5 for the next 24 months at £28.80 per month with 11gb data.

Seems like a good phone and deal

Just need to cancel my 3 'One Plan' sim only deal next...

Can't comment on the deal, but personally I think the phone is leaps and bounds beyond anything out there atm. It's build quality, looks, and performance is perfect imho, especially the build quality. Feels so well put together, solid and high quality.

Are there any 'accessories' that can make this phone less uncomfortable to hold?

I despise cases but think I'd need a case to use it comfortably

I've always used cases on my phones, so I'm happy to use them on the Z5. I usually use the S-Line Gel cases - they are a bit bulky but really protect phones when they are dropped. I've read the Z5 is a bit vulnerable to drops - especially the glass back plate (?).

I've ordered a "Olixar FlexiShield Ultra-Thin 100% Clear (Sony Xperia Z5)" and I'll see how I get on with it. Seems a bit thin from some reviews, but I'll see. Dropping phones onto a pavement hashappened to me a few times and that is what I want to protect against.

I've also ordered the "Olixar Sony Xperia Tempered Glass Screen Protector (Z5)" though I haven't used a screen protector for ages.

I've read that some cases can interfere with the camera on the Z5 - blur from the flash etc.

I'd be glad to get other recommendations for a case to see what other people have used...

check out the Z5 case by Mike Galeli - £25 in the shops but £9.99 on ebay. I saw it in CPW and the quality is hands down better than any other case I've found for the phone.

Leather on the outside, suede on the inside. Rubberised soft touch casing to hold the phone in place in a beautiful matte black. I've had tons of compliments on it too.

I have the Olixar case. No blur from flash as it doesnt cover the flash at all cutout)

No idea as I havent dropped it. It seems resilient enough though. I also have a tempered protector on it to help lower the chance of the screen cracking if dropped but, again, I aint testing it :D :D

I can appreciate that you don't want to be a test pilot with your phone. But I still don't trust the Z5 everyday resilience...

Think this is going to be my next phone.
Unless 6p drops a lot in price it's the closet thing to what I want

OK battery - could be better
Nled
Stereo speakers
Quick charge (helps battery scenario)
From what I gather good screen

Will most likely get a case as it's uncomfortable to hold

Hmm not sure if this was the same before I sent it away but the top speaker is much louder than bottom one when playing music or video even the hidden speaker test sounds different :( I'm presuming this isn't normal?

the top speaker is slightly louder than the bottom speaker but you shouldn't be hearing a significant difference to the point that if you hover over the top it sounds very loud and if you hover over the bottom it sounds quiet.

I realised that I hadn't removed the protective film that covered the screen from it coming back from the repair centre...... doH!

Only niggle I have now is that i'm not sure if it will be waterproof any more, I tried the pressure sensor test and it doesn't change when pressing the screen which it should, I guess there is one way to find out :)

So been looking at so many phones lately but I keep coming back to this one. 6p/6s+ too big 6s probably smaller than I'd like. Nothing else really appeals all that much but the z5 looks nice and being able to run it under a tap and clean it is awesome (I'm a farmer so being able to clean my phone would actually be amazing) however I keep hearing so many mixed things on the camera and battery life. I can accept the battery probably won't be as good as the moto x play I have but its so slow and the camera really isn't great with what feel like a really slow shutter or just really long processing so many photos are blurred. So how is the camera now? Its had an update has it not since launch?

Just got mine on the £29 11gb p/month Vodafone deal and the Z5 seems excellent.

I've moved up from a Moto G 2nd Gen and I wasn't expecting much of a jump (I've always been sceptical about the bang per buck of high end phones). But the Z5 is amazing in comparison.

Battery life is miles better (based on 2 days experience ).The bluetooth connection to my car head set actually works properly, with no skipping. And the Z5 just feels and looks much better.

If 'd stayed on '3' I'd be paying £20 per month for unlimited data and sim only i.e. using my original Moto G. For £9 per month extra I've now got an exceptional phone and a very decent 11gb data allowance.

Well chuffed (so far...) :D
