Sorry AMD :(

Out of interest OP,how soundproofed is your case and does it have a Window??

There is always the chance when you do upgrade, even if you stay with Nvidia you might get unlucky.

TBH,we already know certain models and certain brands have had problems. IIRC,there were issues with certain MSI HD7950 cards, and there have been issues with certain Palit GTX460 cards and so on. Its not as hard as you think to find out though,as it is usually reported somewhere.

The only issue I do have is if the data is conflated to mean something it shouldn't be.

Yup I said it would be interesting becuase their is no perfect brand, no perfect side. I wasn't implying you AMD fans would be surprised or Nvidia you'd be shocked. Just that it's funny when you read all these threads and bickering when in reality when it comes to reliability both are as good (or bad) as eachother.

As I used to explain to customers all the time. Spending more doesn't guarantee no faults. The faster these things go the more heat they produce Heat and electricity are not best friends. Things can break. And most importantly cap whine can exist for anything with a capacitor in it.

He's mentioned in one of the early posts that he uses this PC for work so could use the GPU power for that. Alternatively, it could be he's running a monster resolution and needs more power than a single card can provide - I run games at 5760x1080 and often find that a single card won't produce playable frame rates unless dropping the quality settings (which I hate doing because I'm a graphics junkie). :)
