South Africa

My condolences.

Seriously I've worked with several white South Africans and some of the stories they told were horrific.

I will however concede that the South African accent is fairly awesome.

Why are you even here? The media keeps telling me that post-apartheid SA is a utopia. Why are you wasting time in this European slum?

We should invite the ANC to run our country too.

You ever been there or are you just taking what several people say as gospel?

Its a country with many problems but its also an incredible country where 99% of the people are friendly and welcoming, it has a wealth of culture and history, its sceneries and wildlife speak for themselves and its generally a very nice place to visit providing you follow some basic rules.

In my last 2 jobs I've worked directly with 6 people from SA, all white I might add, who moved to England between 3 months and a few years before hand, seeing as they had lived there for 20+ years I think "taking there word for it" is pretty reasonable.

Every single one of them had experienced having their homes broken into and robbed, 4 of them had been mugged, one of which was having their car stolen at gunpoint whilst there were in it.

These are people with degrees who I consider trustworthy, from different areas of SA, so yeah, I think it's a reasonable reason to believe what I said.

Also I'm not arguing it's beauty in terms of geographical or biological, that's obvious, however from what I have seen in the media and been told by several people from the country, it certainly seems a questionable place to live.

@Jambo - It's awesome, it sound like someone trying to do an American and Australian accent at the same time whilst chewing cotton balls.
