I thought it was quite a good finale, because I genuinely didn't expect main characters to get killed off. They decided to go out with a bang rather than a traditional hollywood sunset ending, which is commendable.

I was a bit bored earlier and i decided to look up this series, as i watched it years ago when it was on and was bitterly dissapointed when it was cancelled. Much to my surprise i found a site saying the series was now on sale on dvd on the american rainforest site, but not in the UK. Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a copy in the UK?
is it available in the US?
i've got all the episodes on VCD but would buy DVD-quality versions in a heartbeat.

Re B5, that apparently only barely made it into years 4 and 5 and unfortunately it does show at times :( (I would love to have seen the last 2 seasons as they were originally intended prior to the writers having to try and finish a major storyline a season early).
at the time the rumour was that season 4 was to be the last, hence the reason why straczynski tied up all the loose ends at the end of that season.this is the reason why season 5 can be described as being a little on the thin side.

Wasnt the cliffhanger all there fighters plunging towards a planet or something??
Vansen and Damphousse fell to a planet,Wang was blown up,IIRC Mcqueen and Hawkes survived as did West.

Top show, but I think it suffered from it's excessive budget raising expectations too high (in terms of what the Networks wanted).
from memory the show as doing fine until some up and coming exec noticed it.
the show was initially filmed in australia (or NZ i forget which),however when someone at the network noticed it and earmarked it to be this years "big thing" they decided to switch production to the US and the budget went nuts.
cancelling this show was a big mistake IMHO.

Im actually going to read some of the fanfics out there just to get a fix. I hear their is some pretty well written stuff out there.

A version of the future I like ..... as in there is money, there is the United States Marine Corps and Budweiser.

... and Johnny Cash.

S:AAB is about the only truly memorable Sci-Fi series from when I was young, being at college at the time I was staying up and watching it, spesificly got a subscription to DigiGuide so that I could set reminders I loved it that much.

It is about the only Sci-Fi that sets out to take on some difficult subjects (Racism, Relationships, Compassion) in a way that dosn't gloss over it with a Star Trek/B5 the human race is infinitly compasionate and always striving for peace way.

Spotted it after Christmas on the web, was seriously tempted to get it... cash flow problems prevented me purchacing it.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been waiting so long. i rember hearing it was going to be reaseased a while ago but totally forgot about it.
Its a sham i hear the Packaging and extras are bad or non existent :( and i thought there were 24/25 eps ow well 10 years on its still got a following and has finally got a DVD issue.

I got this from the US via that Rainforest retailer a couple for weeks ago.

It comes on 5 dual sided discs with two episodes on each side.

Quality is fantastic, much better then I expectd them to come up with after all this time.

Great show, has dated a bit, but not too much.

I remember dipping into this series on the odd occassion but never really got into it. It always struck me as slightly low budget because they never really wheeled out the hardware, it was all set in slightly smokey, dark corridors. :)
