Space Shuttle STS-121 - Mission ULF1.1 to the International Space Station

read figures of anything between 16 to 30 mins
It was 59 seconds delayed during launch. A large percentage of that will be shuttle -> TDRSS -> NASA -> TV broadcast satellite (yes, the signal is in space twice) -> ISP receiver -> transcode -> internet -> transatlantic -> UK -> buffering -> you.

When Columbia was destroyed they didn't cut away. Of course, there wasn't a lot to see. If something bad happened up close, I'm sure there's enough time for someone to hit a big red button (certainly don't need 15 minutes for that).

Did someone drop something?

Cool. First job completed succesfully and by the sounds of things it was somewhat easier than expected.

Now to go play like a monkey on the OBSS. :)

These early space missions will be remembered for generations to come. IMO our future lies in the hands of these people. We should focus all are resources on space exploration and not killing one and other. /end rant

Oops. :o

The two spacewalkers just spent the last 15+ minutes fretting over a tether that wouldn't retract and what they were going to do to work around it, ending up deciding to go back for an emergency spare. With that, Houston says "we'd just like to confirm that the tether is unlocked", to which the response came back "no, it's locked". If NASA have a bloopers reel, that's sure to be going on it.

Just watching it now. time is 9:43PM saturday.

This is sooo good, now hes talking about a scratch he caused because he got stuck while getting in to the hatch. "houston, im stuck"
Great TV ;)
