Space Shuttle STS-121 - Mission ULF1.1 to the International Space Station

OMG OMG OMG

they just showed a video of the main rocket boosters coming off the shuttle, camera angle was in the nose of one of the rocket boosters, just simply awesome cam view of the shuttle boosting off into space, AMAZING, hopefully they will release that as a stand alone shot

Shock and AWE.

Thats some seriously good vid there, quick question will they ever be realeasing high res vids and stills of that ? as I know the vids they have are high res and cut down for nasa tv and that, id want that short peice of vid in high res

They're getting the full video from lift-off tomorrow. Might release something then, although chances are it'll go to the press first. :(

Doubt it'll be HD. The video cameras they use aren't that good (which is fair enough as at least some of them get destroyed). Good enough to do the job they need, but that's all.

SRB video on about now for those who liked the clip yesterday

(Sorry for short notice - only just found out).

LMAO - as the SRB splashes down, you can see a bird getting out of the way in a hurry. :D

NASA need to be taught a few things about 'soccer'. Overtime? WTF? :p

Still, at least Discovery is clear to come home. No STS-300 needed.

That was so sweet when it was cleared for TPS to come back...now we can resume the "Boldly going where no person has been before"...and all that...

Just hope the HST servicing mission gets the go-ahead now (decision in October I believe). That thing's still doing fatastic science despite it's age, but it's beginning to fall apart, so it's really now or never.

I'm glad to have caught this :) I had to pay to watch it though at the local internet cafe. I try and catch as many launches as possible.

Least we didn't have any rogue bears scaring mission control this time :D
