Spanish Football 2011-2012

I remember the days when Seville were actually a threat to Barce and Madrid now they're just as rubbish as the other teams in that league.

Sorry that was a typo, 3 points. I suspect they'll have the chance to extend it as I have a feeling Barca's round the world excursions this last week will have an adverse effect on their first game or two back.

Bloody he'll and we call English players bad for arguing with refs!

The Madrid player shoulder barged the ref almost on his back when he went to send off Pepe  couldn't believe it!

Thoroughly enjoying this Real match. Ronaldo playing like he would be more at home in the Sunday league and Mourinho screaming and shouting at everyone.

Some great goals as well.

In the end Madrid must have got the hairdryer at half time for being so off the pace, woke up and just sped up the gears and the pressure was too much for Malaga - they crumbled, as expected really. I said in the other thread it'd finish 4-2 and if it wasn't for that offisde goal right at the end it would have been. Diarra seemed to have a great game, some of his dribbling/going round people was great fun to watch... when you watch Barca (bar Messi) they tend to pass/move around the opposition and get in good positions, Madrid are more cavalier and a lot of their team want to go round players rather than looking for the pass, which is one of the reasons I prefer watching them.

I keep telling people, Diarra is a damn gem of a player, can play almost anywhere(anywhere across the back, anywhere across midfield really and takes a damn good freekick/penalty).

He played as many games as Khedira last year and was injured for a good portion and again has had a bit of an injury this year but played a very decent amount when not injured. The amount of times he can hold off 3 players and come out with the ball AND then find the right pass to start a good counter attack is, well, hilarious. Personally I think Diarra/Khedira central midfield with Alonso dropped would solve a lot of Real's defensive problems.

I do enjoy watching Real, they are VERY direct, but I think that in honesty is down to a very small number of players making up for the crapness of others. I think defensively they are pretty god damned awful and their directness falls apart against Barca because frankly you can't rely on 3-4 players against a really really good team.

God damned, the first goal was simple but efficient finish, the second is god damned brilliant. Fabregas in a better team has improved in terms of finishing and chances he gets.

With us both because our creative midfielders, Fabregas, nasri at points, Wilshire last season and now Arteta all stay back to cover for the ineptness of Song.

With a team where he is released forwards....... god damned. I thought he'd be a lot more effective in a better team but I didn't think he'd score this much or look this good..... or at least not this quickly.

Only injuries are keeping him from being at Ronaldo/Messi level's of scoring so far, on a per game basis he's about on par with both, considering he's in a new league and coping with a recurring injury that is completely outstanding.

If he has an injury free season next season I think we'll be looking at the third 40 goal + player in La liga....... and we sold him for basically £35mil.

EDIT:- not entirely sure but think Xavi got all 4 assists as well, and Messi scored a header :o

It's good to see him doing so well for his boyhood club. Hopefully he can win half a dozen league titles, a few CL's, obtain legend status there and then come back here once he's bored of winning everything lol.
