Spanish Grand Prix 2011, Circuit de Catalunya- Race 5/19

Nope, they've just invented something that passes the FIA test but looks to behave illegally otherwise.

But thats just it. The tests are used to enforce the rules. If it passes the tests, its legal. Simple.

Wether the test is borked is another argument, but the argument that the Red Bull parts are somehow illegal and yet being allowed to race is just wrong.

Good article on it here:

Basically, its pretty impossible to accurately measure wing flexing.

It is a shame no other team has been able to copy it, for our sake. It clearly flexes, but if the FIA say it is legal, then it is legal. This is what F1 has always been about, it is just a shame that it makes the championship super boring.

I seriously hope McLaren can develop that car further, because Hamilton is our only chance at keeping this season interesting.

I cant quite tell weather that's sarcastic or not....

No sarcasm intended.

The FIA make (and test) the rules and are entitled to judge for themselves which car is legal or not.

I think Horner said it the best, when he said that his team want to create a car which passes FIA rules/regs, not McLaren rules/regs.

It does seem to be panning out that way.

I actually think that Hamilton starts out as favourite at Monaco, ahead of Vettel.

I just hope Hamilton doesn't make any silly mistakes, McLaren get the strategy right and he wins the race. We don't need another Vettel victory.

Luckily for McLaren, even if they can't match RB's quali pace, race pace and a decent DRS straight should help them along a lot.

I hope he destroys his car during the 1st lap...

Alongside Alonso, many people believe him to be the best driver in F1. Alonso himself, feels that Hamilton is currently the fastest driver in F1. Also, he is the only one who is able to consistently challenge Vettel, even though Vettel has a considerably faster car.

Many people rate Button highly and over the last 20 races or so, he has shown that he is Button's superior. He went up against Alonso (rated as the best in F1) and matched him for points, in his début season.

Are you sure you are being objective in your derision of Lewis Hamilton?

Must be trollin' surely?

Trolling?

Vettel and Alonso are by far the best drivers in F1 at the moment. Hamilton is not in my view as good as either of them. I don't deny he is good but he is in the same bracket as Button, Rosberg, Kubica, Webber. Hamilton also has a prima donna attitude to everything at the moment, where nothing is ever his doing, so personally I'd rather see anybody else win rather than him.

Hamilton, in an inferior car, is beating Webber with consummate ease. How Webber can be mentioned alongside Button and Hamilton (former World Champions), is beyond me.

You also can't mention Hamilton as in the same category as Button, when he Hamilton beats Button in virtually every race and qualifying session, in identical machinery.

Kubica - how many titles and races has he won?

Yes, Hamilton does have the attitude of a prima-donna, I grant you. But this does not make him a lesser driver. Senna was a prima-donna if I ever saw one, and many polls have placed him as the best driver of all time. In fact, most sportsman who at the top of their field behave like spoilt brats when they don't get their way, but this does detract from the fact that they are at the top of their field.

We'll just have to have differing opinions then as I've stated my views and you've stated yours. Maybe I look beyond the who won the most championships & races and look at their ability to deliver based on the car or circumstances they were in at the time.

I can't argue with that, but...

Hamilton is the only one so far this season to have been able rattle Vettel (who drives the fastest car on the track), where Hamilton is driving in an inferior car. He beat Vettel in China, and hounded Vettel, in the closing laps of the last GP.

How's that?

Because he isn't good enough and his attitude stinks...

You have a funny view on F1, Put Hamilton or Alonso in that red bull and watch Vettle crumble tbh.

They consistently drag inferior cars to the front of the grid, Vettle is good but I've a feeling he would be no where if not in a Redbull.

Doesn't deserve to win because his attitude stinks? :o

I have a funny view of F1? Ok if you say so...I'm quite happy with my view thanks. I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to not like a particular driver or rate him...

I just don't like Hamiltons attitude, I think he is too quick to blame anybody and everybody else for problems and never looks at himself as being the cause. Alonso was like that when he switched from Renault to McLaren but he mellowed somewhere along the line and he is now a better driver, in my view , for it.

This being the same Vettel who has destroyed the rest of the field over the last couple of years on more than 1 occasion? The same Vettel who has continued to win races when things like KERS has failed which put him at a SIGNIFICANT disadvantage around the track to cars which do?
