Spanish Grand Prix 2013, Barcelona - Race 5/19

There are so many great race circuits that never see a modern F1 race it is an utter disgrace that investment goes into modern crappy CAD based inventions from the same bloke who hasn't made a great one yet.

Austria was awesome.

There's nothing wrong with Barcelona either, it's just the teams have so much data on the place. They should be testing at places that won't be used in the season.

The tracks are a big issue too. I find it interesting how many people today talk about tracks like Barcelona positively, mentioning some of its corners as being special when many years back it was seen as awful and an example of modern racing. Tells you lots about the more modern circuits if people talk about Barcelona as anything but being crap.

Its about more than the track though. If you have an empty field and a pile of money and want a world class venue (everything, facilities, services, etc) built on time then Tilke is your man.

Its as shame the tracks he builds inside those venues are dire.
