Spanish Grand Prix 2014, Catalunya - Race 5/19

You must remember that a car has been completely designed around a nose, to just drop a new nose on is not a simple thing.

Indeed. Change the nose and you very likely would have to change bits on the rest of the car to suit. The nose itself brings zero performance, it's how it influences what goes on behind it.

That said, this would be McLaren's third relatively major nose design already this year and so far they've gone backwards massively (podiums in the relatively chaotic Melbourne through to finishing outside the top 10 now), so I wouldn't be surprised if they are just sticking bits on and seeing what happens. They look completely and totally lost at the moment.

Even in their dark days of 1994 and 1995 they didn't look this bad. I maintain there are only 2 slower cars out there (Marussia and Caterham), and Sauber would be roughly their equal if they had the same engine.

Yep, looks like another write-off season for Mclaren. Probably got one eye on Honda 2015 already tbh.

Don't like :|

The Smirnoff letters look stupid and everything looks too crammed on, thoughts?

Hopefully it'll look better on the 2014 car which has a bit more bodywork, but not a great fan currently. As Glaucus says though, better pics needed.

The organisers of the Spanish Grand Prix want the Formula One race to be officially renamed.

The Circuit de Catalunya, as the venue for the annual Grand Prix has been known since its construction in 1991, was officially rebranded as the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya last year.

With the above-mentioned change in mind, circuit boss Salvador Servia told Catalunya Radio that he wants to rename the race the Barcelona Grand Prix.

"Evidently, the 'Barcelona' brand outsells the 'Spain' brand," he claimed.

"When we say that we would call it Gran Premio de Barcelona, it is because we are selling worldwide and the Barcelona brand helps us a lot."

The existing deal between the FIA and the Spanish Grand Prix in its current form ends in 2016.

looks better side on, not a fan of that curved text stuff though, reminds me of some of the crap font formatting from photoshop and just looks a bit cheap to me.

Personally think "Sahara" looks worse because of the engine cover - Smirnoff imo looks good

Inregards to McLaren, also remember JB looked good for another podium before the safety car intervened and his clutch issue became apparent in the race before last. Ok they didnt get any points, but their performance level was high initially.
