I think that was probably because Hamilton knew he was stopping again whereas Max was going to the end. So one was hammering his tyres and the other trying to save them.

Verstappen radio - Yeaaaah well, it is what is it. Just slow. Impossible to keep him behind.

Horner - Was a good effort Max. I don't know what else we could have done there. But, good effort. Unfortunately, like Hungary, they had a free stop behind them, so had all the options.

Verstappen - Yeah, It helps a lot when you are, uh, clearly just faster. So it doesn't really matter if they done a 1 or a 2.

Horner - Yeah, they definitely looked like got the upper hand in race pace today.
 
I just don't get the hate for Lewis.

He's the first person to call out his team, the men & women who help him etc - He's always adamant it's not him, it's a team effort.

He was a bit flash in the his younger years but he's matured and I just don't get the hate for him (jealousy no doubt)

Yes - great car, but you still have to drive it. Another masterclass from Hamilton and Merc today.

Hamilton doesn't need a wingman. Red Bull need both drivers to try and win as otherwise Hamilton can just do the opposite strategy.

Hamilton should race for a couple more years just to see how frustrated Verstappen gets.

Max quickly had to respond to Hamilton's pace, Max had nothing despite nursing the tyres... Sorry but Mercedes is much faster, if not for the start Redbull would have had no chance staying with a Mercedes in clean air today.
 
I think we established last race Mercedes are far ahead.

Monaco might be a bit different. Although aren't people saying the Merc is better in slow corners. It's only behind in medium to fast corners.
 
@KiNgPiN83 makes a very good point, if Merc knew all along they were planning another stop, flying up to Max the first time and panicking him into ruining his tyres trying to match that pace was very clever.
 
Yawn. Another boring race.

Another quiet but successful race for Leclerc, Ric finally on form and Perez is handy in the race too. Once he gets his Saturdays sorted he'll be up there with Bottas at least.

Also every time Crofty mentions Russell and points something happens.

But they could've just pitted when Hamilton did the second time as their stops are usually decent and could have stayed out in front. (Barring that 4 second stop today obviously) They chose to try and play the tyre game with arguably the best in the tyre game and they lost... Because all the while Max was in front of Hamilton with similar tyres the Merc just couldn't get past, even with DRS. It was only once Max's tyres were dead that they were able to get past him.

Pit - Yeah. I think we're good. Good escape, getting 1 point out of it. Was not an easy one.

Gasly - We need to analyse following other cars. The car is very, very, very, very difficult, like a lot more than last year. Especially in the wind. It just feels wrong, so, when I'm alone it feels ok. But with the wind, when I'm following other cars, it just feels wrong. Need to analyse. I'm ****** disappointed.
