Really surprised to see people calling this one dull.

I thought it had far more action and interest than most.

I thought it was pretty entertaining considering everything that went on, and that it didn't even need rain or a safety car to spice things up.

I think it just goes to show you never give up. His head just isn't there which just feeds the view that he's a massive primadonna.

He doesn't give up. It shows bugger all, because he consistently moans and complains "oh this strategy is bad" "Why did you pit me", "these tyres are no good" "I wanted mediums", "they are too fast", "we can't catch them" etc... Then goes on produce a great result. Yesterday was no exception. He's done it throughout his career.

Is it just me, I had to watch the highlights on ch4 and can’t understand why I had to watch 2 slots of tom cruise and why oh why was Steve included

It was pretty dull but I think that is often to be expected for a Spanish GP.

In a vacuum of Spanish GPs, it was decent. Wont be rushing to watch it again though.

For a Barcelona race that was amazing, overall it was ok :p

Feel sorry for Leclerc, he had that one in the bag (thanks in part to Russells great defence, and the RBs dodgy DRS, again.)

No doubt the commentators will continue to go on about Verstappen 'winning every race he's finished' knowing that 3 races now he was solidly beaten by Leclerc just a DNF helped him keep that pointless stat.

Pretty sure Monaco will still be boring as hell. Obviously.

1st good race for him this season and the fanboys are losing their **** :D

This constant Hamilton chat is incredibly boring. It's so circular. You'd think nothing else happened in the race.

Writing must be on the wall for DR. How many more poor races can he have? LN has thoroughly outclassed him this season.

Must be getting a bit concerning for CS too. Have to say it's a shame. I like sainz but you can see desperation creeping in with leclerc doing so well. I thought this pairing would be a strong one.

Alonso did so well. Such a shame he started at the back. Really glad alpine had a promising race. Really enjoying this chilled out alonso. Reminds me of the alonso I supported Waaaay back when he joined Renault F1. My favourite driver in my favourite team. Just wish the car was better.

Russell is doing so well. I wish Hamilton wasn't hit by k-mag. It would have been amazing to see Hamilton and Russell battling it out. I think it would have happened. I guess then the Hamilton bashing/love would have been worse though!

Got to feel for leclerc. On a day they didn't expect to win they had it in the bag. But lost it all.

It was nice to have a good race on a dry track that is traditionally a snooze fest

As normally happens in things like this, common sense will have prevailed. Lewis will be racing at Monaco

Fair enough though I'd call that a pragmatic approach. Common sense would have been for the rule to include all pieces of jewelery (inc marriage rings etc) and enforced since the day it was introduced back in 2005 or whenever it was. With all the fiery incidents we've had in F1 history to allow pieces of metal in skin contact just seems wrong even if risk is low, I work in construction industry so maybe I'm too H&S concious. ;)

If there's enough heat on Hamilton's nose to make his nose stud an issue something has already gone very wrong.

IMO, they should have enforced it when Hamilton first started wearing jewellery. Having failed to do so a little bit of common sense in the application would go a long way. I rather doubt that when push comes to shove Lewis is going to miss a race over a nose stud.

What I’m dreading is seeing GR getting the order to let LH pass, so hopefully he continues to drive well and stays well in front of him and no team orders just good driving

I can't see that happening now this season.

Unless they can release some serious performance in the next couple of races, both drivers are too far behind to realistically challenge for the WDC.

As long as the team can collect enough points for 2nd or 3rd in the WCC, it makes no odds which driver is picking up the lead position.

Unless there's a contractual obligation of course, but Merc have always tried to let their drivers race.

boring but we will all still watch it

I'm not planning to this year, I'll watch Qualifying and skip the race. If when I check the results something crazy has happened I might bother watching the race, but when I inevtitably see the top-10 (at least) from qualifying finish in the same order I think I'll pass :p

It may happen, but it'll be about different strategy or clear pace advantage rather than handing it to a particular driver. Merc have always let their drivers race unless it's key to a title fight.

Definitelly, I'd think the likelehood of any jewellery to become an actuall issue is next to none but it's an easy risk that could have been resolved by enforcing this rule since day one.
