I got my boyfriend Blood & Sand on blu-ray. He says it's better than watching it on TV - hasn't seen the DVD so don't know how much of a difference there is but says it's very good on blu-ray.

My thoughts exactly, just doesn't seem right. He'll never be as good as Andy Whitfield granted but he just seems so very wrong.
Shame about Andy.

Ye Im really gutted about this aswel andy was perfect as spartacus and in my eyes no one can replace him now, real shame it's such a great series.

I'd honestly rather wait and hope he recovers from his cancer no matter how long it takes rather than spoil the series with this new actor, no offence to him but he just doesn't fit.

I don't agree with waiting, that just won't work. People will naturally lose interest (writers, producers, etc) as there won't be any money coming in for the project. I'm sure the new actor (name escapes me at the minute) will carve out his own view of Spartacus and there'll be a slightly different note to the show. I'm sure it'll work, but it'll just be odd for the first episode but we'll quickly get used to him (providing it is just an actor change!)

They should have done a spin off with Crixus but tbh I always preferred his character over Spartacus.

I think it would take a lot of adjustment and time to get use to the new spartacus guy, regardless I will watch it for the hot babes and blood and action, most proberly not in that order...

Isnt that essentially what Gods of the Arena was?

Funnily enough i too feel that Spartacus is one of the weaker charcters in Spartacus, so many off-shoots could be created just from that original first series.
