Spartacus: Blood and Sand

He was a modern gladiator battling the worst killer this planet now has.

Lost a couple of uncles this year to cancer. One struck down in just 4 months. Didn't even know he had cancer till he was dead.

Cancer doesn't make sense, different types of people die from this disease, which means there must be something in each of their lifestyles that's contributing to cancer development specifically, especially if the cells in the body are performing abnormally.

Ditto lost my own father to cancer 4 years ago, sometimes I feel its the chemotherapy and its side effects thats the killer... but what a situation to be in you can take treatment for cancer which on its own can make you suffer in pain and discomfort, make u feel ill that your body cant even handle food anymore..... I feel it for Andy Whitfields family, but at least any suffering he had is no over :(

Don't want to do the knee jerk reaction but...that guy looks and sounds very wrong as Spartacus.

We will get used to him I though the same when I started watching it with Andy Whitfield, he just didn't look he part but he soon grew on me in the part and the same will happen with this new chap.

real shame about Andy just as he had found fame R.I.P.

My brother died from this terrible disease at five years of age (cancer), it doesn't just kill great people it kills families too.

I hope Andy's family can grow strong after this terrible event and enjoy the time they had with him.

It's amazing that in the 21st century, a cure cannot be found for such a potentially curable set of diseases.

Wow I've just finished watching Gods of the Arena having finished S1 of Spartacus. I've really really enjoyed it, thought the first 2/3 episodes Spartacus were not as good as I hoped but it got better and better and the 'prequel' was a brilliant story, and great for setting the backstory. Learning about Gannicus was pretty damn cool, will be interesting to see what happens next in S2 along with the S1 cast.

RIP Andy, I'm sure he'll be proud of S1 and wish the guys well for the future series. Liam McIntyre might feel the pressure of stepping into Andy's shoes but I'm sure he will do fine! :)

PS. I'll be glad to see more of Katrina Law! ;)

Just finished watching Blood and sand. Absolutely loved it, the first episode is a little slow but it keeps gathering so much pace and the last episode is epic. I'm so gutted Andy died in real life, the look and sound of the new actor doesn't feel right. I guess you have to give it time, but Andy made Spartacus and its such a shame what happened.
