Spartacus Vengence

You couldn't tell who was who?... i guess you didn't watch it lol

I have enjoyed all of them so far, change of actor is ok ('cause of what happened) i don't see why anyone would hate after the first episode.

You can tell they have less of a budget this time around though, but still it's enjoyable.

New dude is okay - he does make a very good effort, but no one can replace Andy Whitfield.

Now it is down to the story and action (just like for the last 2 seasons) - can they make it compelling and meaningful enough, or will it just be an excuse for gratuitousness?

Andy Whitfield really wasn't that big compared to some of the other guys on the show. The problem the new guy has is that he doesn't seem to have Whitfield's charisma. Whitfield was at his best as a bubbling cauldron of rage powered forward by the memory of his wife. The new chap doesn't seem to have that yet.

I'm slightly more concerned by the face that the formula as a whole seems to be starting to tire. I'll give it plenty more chances yet but it immediately seems problematic now that the series takes place outside of the confines of the ludus.

It's nice to see Lucrecia back (although she does rather make me remember Batiatus and wish he was still in it) and Ilythia remains a great villain, but Glaber is a bit of a blank slate at the moment. They need to bring another baddie in asap.

I would have liked the Hell on Wheels guy as the replacement, though Spartacus with a Southern US accent would have been entertaining haha! Will see how the new guy fits in though.

Didn't warm to the first episode, the new Spartacus just doesn't have the same charisma as the old one. One thing that has started to annoy me is all the Australian accents in it. I didn't notice this in the B&S or GotA.

Only seen the first episode. New guy is ok, he looks similar but his acting just isn't as good :(

other than that it was very exciting, some lovely talent on display :p Like the new brother and sister, they could be interesting characters.

New guy is a bit rubbish. Andy Whitfield (RIP) was 190lb and 5'10" and 38 years old when he did Spartacus. His replacement Liam McIntyre is about the same weight, but 6'02", so he looks less muscular and is visibly 11 years younger. He cannot act for toffee, his face is just too young and on top of all for an alleged body builder he has rather odd and annoying "once you see it you cannot unsee it" model like catwalk manner in his step. Shame really, whole series killed by bad replacement casting.

Just as bad as the first series, not impressed with the sex scenes so far either.:P

+1 ;)

I'm hoping it picks up a bit and get in into it's stride as the season progresses.. but so far not a patch on the others.

2 episodes in now and I'm not that impressed either. We all knew he wouldn't be up to Andy's standard, but this guy simply doesn't suit the role. Too young, too skinny and just looks too much of a pretty boy for the role.

I think they would have been better off killing him off in Ep1 and let someone else take over...

I'm impressed it's great

But i agree on this

Not going to watch this, the first series was so good I can't imagine anyone but Andy being spartacus.
