Spartacus Vengence

It’s a strange bit of casting alright, new guy has zero screen presence...was shocked to see he was taller than Andy.

Surely it couldn’t' have been hard to hit the gym and get some decent definition / muscle mass knowing you were going to be Spartacus?

Hopefully Gannicus returning will take some of the emphasis away from the difference

Ok I'm going to watch the first vengence episode now. I'm trying not to hate Andy's replacement but seeing him in all the adverts on sky gives me the impression hes not right for the role.

+1 for Gannicus coming back, he was awesome.:D

I think McIntyre was better is episode 2. He may grow into the role.

Not particularly thrilled to see Asher back to be honest. He's a character I found more annoying that anything else but I suppose it will me amusing to watch him get his just deserts at some stage.

More than Whitfield, the show really really misses John Hanna. They need to find a proper villain asap.

new guy still sucks balls imo... he doesnt look like a manly man... hes to feminine and has no muscle mass like the other "heroes" of the show

cant act for toffee either, i dont understand why he got hired.... is it really that hard to find someone to fill the role that has something about them

You just know Ashur will be the villain for the rest of the series, until they play naked leap-frog with him at the end.

New guy isn't great - also they seem to know that. I was watching it with a friend and we both became quite aware they seemed embarrassed to show him without a top on that kinda thing. Completely unlike Andy who was muscled and looked the part :(

Will keep watching it for now though as I'm interested in the story...

What episode is Gannicus meant to be back in?

The trailer suggests next episode, although it looks like he's back in the arena. Could be a flashback but I'll speculate that the writers are brining an arena storyline back in, as they've made a point of showing us that there is civil unrest due to the current combatants being unable to cut the mustard.

I'd say the capture of Doctore (or however the hell you spell his real name) coupled with the footage of Gannicus means they're going to pitch them both back into the arena to try to calm the locals, at which point Spartacus and Crixus can rescue them.

Probably true.

Looking forward to seeing Ashur and Lucretia getting up to no good, both very devious.

As said above I really do miss Batiatus, great character.

Also need bigger juggs.

Basically sums it up for me.

I said before it even aired to friends that it would be no where near as good without Andy Whitfield(rip) in the Spartacus role. Will keep watching for the story though I guess.

The new Sparacus actor is letting this down, he's not got the carisma Andy had and hes a bit of a whimp tbh. Still, its getting better and building up like the first season.

We are on series 2 now. Gods of the Arena was set before Blood and Sand and done so the actor could get better following his cancer battle.
