Tupeck would be good but he's not a pecker!

Maybe a poll is required :p

Tracey. ;)

What species is it?

I did some Googling and it appears to be a Wren, they have a nest in one of the three trees in the garden, whilst Robins and Sparrows share homes in the other trees. The singing and activity throughout the day is quite relaxing

I don't think it's a wren, unless you have hands like a baby.

Wrens are teensy tiny.

Edit: tail looks wrong, too.

Hmm I was referring to this when I said I Googled for similar looking birds:

Same beak shape, same plumage style, this one looks to be young though as it's smaller than 6", probably about 4" beak to tail. Ed She-wren is sleeping now else I'd go double check :p

Rock wrens (i'd never heard of them before, so googled) are American birds, so it"s not one of them.

It doesn't look like a sparrow, finch, thrush or tit. They're the most common garden birds.

Could be a juvenile, but it doesn't look fluffy?

I'm annoyed I can't identify that!

No fluff nope. I expected better from a lord of potatoes!

I will put Ed She-wren as a tentative name in this case until species is known :D
