And a game I recommend, if you haven't played it - Wolfenstein The New Order. Not really that overly emotional, but it really absorbs you in to the amazing story and you care about the badass main character who is done so well, and some of the others characters too. The characters and voice acting are superb, the Jimi Hendrix part was awesome, and ofcourse I have to mention it is tons and tons of fun!

Mafia 1 (and 2 to a lesser extent) is one of my all time favourite games so I've played it too many times to get the same emotional impact as the first time!
I've never really tried BioShock Infinite so maybe that Will be next...
It's been said many times, but the most recent game for a long time that hit me in the Feels was/is The Walking Dead.
The decisions and guilt, plus the affection for some of the characters shows how great the writing and design of the games are. Telltale really do live up to their name.

Does Mafia 1 hold up after playing Mafia 2?
Good call on mafia 1. One of the few games I've ever finished, and I remember being totally blown away by it.
I do fear that the dated visuals really would detract from it today though. I know gameplay and story is what we're talking about, but you need the whole package I think for true immersion. Back in the day mafia 1 visuals and physics were cutting edge.

Another vote for Bioshock Infinite here, great game and really got me invested emotionally. Bioshock 1 is also very good in that respect.
To The Moon made me cry pretty much nonstop for the rest of the day after beating it, no game has ever hit me so deep. The great soundtrack most likely helped.
