Had my Focus ST now for 3 months and in that time ive had nothing but troubles and unbelievable poor mpg (average the last tank was 12.3!)

Garage couldnt find anything wrong with it so guess i got a duffer.

Anyway looking to part-ex change for something else, another ST is a possibility although i'd like to try something new.

Not sure on its current market value, but its an performance blue 06 plate ST-2 with 36000 on the clock, full ford service history. Looking for something that looks nice, has good performance (0-60 < 7s) sounds great and fun to drive. Fuel economy isnt vitally important as long as it gets above 20mpg around town.

about 8k upwards

how about a 350z?:D

edit:forget the 350z get your self a honda:D

integra type R (DC5) great car and they are going for around £8k now :D

although an s2000 would be a better choice snappy but a great drive :D

or have you ever considered a GOLF Gti or A3 3.2?

No such thing as a duffer just bad luck or an abused car. Whats gone wrong wiith it? You will lose a fortune trading it in after 3 months!

Tried the resetting the ECU trick that seems to sort out a few of the MPG issues.

Wouldn't get another ST as you'll end up paying a few grand just to hopefully get a working version of your car.

Alfa Brera?

mini cooper s? could possibly get an early JCW for that budget

and you can easily get a Leon Cupra R for that money

Cheapest Z8 on PH is £66,500.

I take it this is shout a random suggestion out month as there's lots of this crap happening. At least give it 2 seconds of thought.

I am so close to petitioning a new rule saying 'Please justify ALL car recommendations or go away' because this sort of stuff is getting tedious. The OP is not going to buy an £80,000 V8 BMW.

Maybe he meant Z4 and suffers from severe strabismus?

12.3 to the gallon? What?

Absolutely! Thats the sort of poor average I'd expect from a thrashed everywhere e60 M5!

I've got close to this from an articulated HGV! O.P. - something is seriously wrong with your driving style mate!

Wow thats awful mpg  Something definitely not right with that!

How about a Civic Type R? Ticks all your boxes for what you're after, and you should see double the mpg that you're currently getting with your ST. All depends if you love or hate the VTEC engine, but mine puts a smile on my face everytime I'm out in it :D
