Who cares about reports or reviews, everyone is an expert on the internet...
Actually, I am talking about reviews from experts in the field who actually write for the top magazines in the proper layout with the correct settings and highest quality cables in real test rigs. Not Joe Average on the Internet.

I am no-one to comment on the subject, I know that, however, they are. And guess what, all the ones I have read don't mention the LG or the Samsung in the top 10, where was the WLT66? 4th.

So I'm going to recommend it, got a problem with that?
Yes. Because thats not how you worded it before. You can recommend it like that, but to say it the way you did before you were vastly mis-informed.

Have you actually tried the other sets?

Do I have to put "IMO" after every post then?

It's common sense that every post is the posters opinion, don't be so pedantic and pathetic over someone suggesting a TV you don't like.

People have to of tried every single product to be allowed to suggest what they think is best?

I probably have but they don't look nice for a start so I wouldn't even consider them, an LCD should look good as well as perform good.

I have zero problems with the R74, not encountered any flaws or faults, it's very nice quality even on SD, let alone HD, it looks good via HDMI and looks amazing with a 360 via component or VGA.

So am I, believe it or not, the reviewers have an opinion as well, just as I do.

That's what I mean, everyone is an expert on an internet, they read these reviews and without any first hand experience and make a judgement.

If you feel the need to be so pathetically pedantic to cause all this in the first place, I'm not going to bother replying.

Have a nice day.

The R74 has some of the worst sounding speakers ever.

If it were tinny it would be a step forward.

Good job i dont buy TV's for sound.

Also whoever mentioned the flicker, aye, its there on the two sets i've seen running its own freeview.

Doesn't do it on Sky, DVD or 360 though.

Still for £500, fantastic set, and i wish the Toshiba 32WLT66 could be had for £500 on the nose like this set, unless am not looking hard enough.

Note, this is what you said

Samsung R74 32", Hands down.
I'm sorry, thats wrong. It isn't 'Hands down' the best telly, we know this because of professional comparison. It's totally different to saying 'I felt that the Samsung R74 was hands down my favourite to use.

However, you stated it as fact, not everything someone says on a forum is an opinion, if I said 'Hitler killed a lot of Jews', thats not opinion, it's fact. The way you stated it was as a fact, not opinion.

Saying that it's hands down the best is wrong. Because it's not.

Mr_White said:

If they are stating something is hands down better than the opposition, then yes, they do.

I disagree, for a start, none of them are 'bad looking', yes the Samsung probably does have the best look of the 3, however, I watch the image, not the frame.

I would be shocked if it did have problems.

Yes, they do have an opinion, however they are heavily based on facts and figures, your self-judgement of a set clearly isn't.

No they're not, people are allowed to give opinions, however, 99% of people on the Internet aren't 100% knowledgable about everything they are talking about. I know I'm not, so I listen and read people who are, hence why I know the R74 isn't 'Hands Down' the best TV.

I never started it, I merely said you were wrong with you saying the R74 was the best TV, because it's not, therefore you were wrong.

It's night time now. See, thats me being pedantic.

Just feel like having an argument tonight do you? :p

What flicker?

You must have been watching a faulty set or source since it doesn't have any.

And what features does it lack that your suggestion has?
The auto dimming feature, not a faulty set.

1:1 mapping via HDMI and DTV mode via VGA port to enable the 360 to have component standard accurate colours rather than using the VGA PCs standard colour range.

It's £499.01 inc. Delivery.

Is the 32WLT68 the newer version, its just it looks like the 66 could be getting phased out.

a lot of stores are not carrying it.

Anyone know?

The 68 is the newer model, however there isn't a whole lot of difference, it's more a case of better value for the 66 than having to pay extra to get a 68.

Thats why people are so happy about the WLT68, because the price is reduced on the WLT66. If you can afford the WLT68 then it's great, if not there are very few HDTV's for better value.

If you look on the net hard enough you can get the lcd tv i bought just over a week ago samsung LE26R74B digital tuner freeview its a exellent screen loads of people on here have sammy's .

I imagine its the same panel but I know the 68 has an Onkyo speaker system so should sound better, different body as well. Gloss finish on the surround, looks quite classy in my opinion.

For less money the panasonic though surely, seen them back to back. nicer picture.

OK guys I've now decided to get a 37" HDTV, but it wont be till late this year.
Anyone recommend me a cheap 37" HDTV now :D

Same spec as before, Wall Mountable and freeview if possible, also cheap as possible ;)

Well I've decided to get a 26" HD TV and narrowed my options down to three.

1) LG 26LC2R £368

2) Samsung LE26R74BDX £365

3) LG 26LC3R £345

Just by the presentation of the units I would prefer either 1 or 2 and not really keen on the look of 3 but that's not really essential.

I am going to be connecting the Xbox 360, Dreamcast and Gamecube so I need good SD but the unit needs to be stronger by Component as that is how I will be connecting the 360. Dreamcast will be VGA.

I could swap the 360 and dreamcast over everytime I want to use either but does this involve hastle, heavy breathing and possible sweating?

Any advice would be welcome please.

The R87/R88 models from Samsung are now out putting the R74 models as end-of-line, I would think? My 32" R88 is lovely on the PS3. Shame its infra-red sensor is knackered so it's gotta go back to the shop.
