Spec me an LED Torch

Hi

Does anyone have any recommendations for a keyring / keychain sized torch that is ideally USB rechargeable? Currently looking at the Fenix UC02 as an example.

Thanks

I bought the mecarmy x4s and It was a good torch but i had to send it back because the charging port would not work. I am also interested in the DQG hobi plus titanium.

So Im about to order a new torch but not sure if I should go for the new thrunite tc20 or the olight r50 or the thrunite tn30. What do you chaps suggest? Thanks.

edit

Went for the tc20. Anyone know whats the best 26650 batteries for there torches?

I’m not the best to review torches really! Quality feels good though, the size is nice considering the output. Bigger than a edc but far thinner than the big 4x18650 beasts.

I wasn’t sure about the output settings but they are quite well spaced. I’d prefer a tail switch to turn it off so will have to see if there’s any accidental presses of the power button.

I’ve not tested for more than a minute so can’t comment on ramping. The battery is bloody huge, it will be interesting to see where the tech goes when you start to see 2 or 3 of the cells in torches.

+Thanks mate. Mine should be here tomorrow or Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Mine arrived yesterday. Very well made, compact for what it puts out.

Not sure it was worth the upgrade from my Fenix or BLF XML2 based torches but will see more once I’ve used it better.

I'm interested to see what 3800 lumens looks like and with a third of a kilometre range :O and even does that for 130 minutes? 26650 is about extra capacity, so it doesnt need the multiples like 18650 does. not sure they'll be quick to use more then one, that would be bulky
The amazon listing looks good, no need to buy an extra charger or battery its all in there. I got the olight usb charger but I imagine that does it just as well.

I saw a 26650 xml-t6 recently and is noticeable less bright then a cheap xml-u3 I got years ago.

I think this is the data for best LED I use, 920 lumens is bright enough so I think 3800 must be > 2 car headlights

I thought I'd post a heads up /micro review of the Jetbeam IIM I got for £19 delivered before Christmas. I've just had a look and it looks like you can get it for £22 right now.

This is a fairly common form factor - single 18650 cell light.

I bought it as a spare to have around the house, because, for £19, it seemed a good deal.

Having received the light, and used it, I'd change that assessment, and say it's an excellent deal.

Output seems as advertised, build quality is what I expected from Jetbeam (ie, on a par with Fenix and Nitecore), but, for me, the surprise was the functionality...

This has a tail button switch, and a flexible rotating locking mechanism that allows you to lock it on, off, and a few other things.

The light is protected, and single cell, so I'm happy using 3500mAh Sanyo cells for £6 a pop.

All in all, I'd say this adds up to a very good value set up that will exceed the requirements of most users.

Hope that's of use to someone.

Thats a good deal if it can do that lumens, most are fake claims. Wont beat the Fenix Tk22 I found for a tenner and I posted it here for others to get, was only half a dozen in a mis pricing :D

Im interested in those batteries though, seems very good. The batteries are unprotected I guess but would the torch avoid running it down I wonder, I guess not

Could someone please recommend me a good 14500 battery for my torch?

also was wondering what people are using to charge these batteries. I am worried to buy some chinese battery and charger and the thing catches on fire while i am out.

having said that, I recently bought a torch from china for £1 including delivery and it claims a cree q5 with 1000 lumens and aluminium construction. To be honest for one pound its amazing quality and light output but its no Nitecore.
