There were a load of great ones that were oxuk staff that caseking in their wisdom decided to remove from the mod team as dons, even a couple who were dons before working at clockers.

Why don’t you get in touch with some of them and get them involved again as the dons they once were? I always thought the caseking decision was a bit odd as it reduced staff participation and negatively impacted deals and interest in the forums for a lot of them.
Errr not entirely accurate there

Yea it was.

I remember it well. It was one of many things caseking decided to do, removing RJK, Acemodder, myself, Nathwraith to name a few… essentially Spies staff and dons.

There will be threads about it all somewhere in the dons area.

There were others removed too and then others put in place because of casekings belief that it would better suit the business. Essentially the purchasing team at the time were removed bar Gibbo.

One of the many reasons I and others left and then did very little with the forums following that.

But yea, I’ll do it to teach the grasses a thing or two about life.

Snitches get stitches and they call me the Sower of Sussex. Weirdly, as I’m an East Anglian Aberdonian Glaswegian. /thread

Yes, OcUK staff who had been made dons were removed, that's because they weren't really Dons in the sense they had worked their way through the system, they were simply made dons so they could perform basic mod tasks. I've been reading back through the DR since your earlier post to remind myself what happened.

So, thanks for your input but no, we won't be going back to the shop employees for this.

grasses..... Snitches
This is not specifically aimed at you because you're not the first person to come out with this but you're the most recent.

I really thought people here were better than this. There were multiple posts in the recent thread about reporting rule breaks from people who thought they were being edgy with the snitches and stitches rubbish so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised to see it here as well

People complain when we don't moderate stuff, they complain when we do moderate stuff but then we get this rubbish when forum moderation is discussed.

We really can't win whatever we do. It's frustrating to see people whinging both ways but then seeing people whinge both ways, tells us we're doing a balanced job.

That's my whinging out of the way :)

Yes, it's a volunteer role. Yes, it can be incredibly frustrating but it's also satisfying to be part of the moderating team. The mod team is very stable, we've not had many changes for quite a few years and on the whole, we're all good friends now. We meet up regularly for a weekend away somewhere and it's great to see each other and catch up every time we do it.
