Spec Me: Custom WC Loop

snips86x, why don't you put up a wanted thread in the MM if you're on a budget and see if anybody has a decent pump or cpu block going?

That will be my intention. I'm researching first however as I want to ensure I've got everything I need to get it right the first time round. I'd hate to buy an incompatible product or wrong item.

I'm still planning how I wish to plan my loop, order and components and when I want to add my GPU into the loop also. Once I've planned it 100%, I'll stick one up.

Shouldn't be too long!

Are there any metal combinations I need to be aware of?

No problem :) Metal-wise, generally most metals are fine together, just avoid mixing aluminium with anything. Most of the blocks nowadays are copper / nickel and most rads are copper which are fine together.

Nearly all of the pre-mixed coolants have everything required to keep a loop healthy already mixed in.

I'm hoping when I comes to buying the coolant, I can get the Red Aurora. I've seen the Orange & White at i51 and it's stunning!!

i think the rad for the front might be to thick if you are gonna put the pump/res between the gpu/ front rad, i had same prob and after working out sizes for my parvum the most i could go for was a 40mm with the 25mm fans = 65mm leaving 70mm between gpu/front rads/fans using a ek ddc 3.2 pwm pump and xspc acrylic top/res plus due to the heat sinks on the msi z87m only a 30/34mm up top.:(

I have measured it, it will be fine. The bonus to using an x-flow radiator is you only have 1 outlet on the top at the front.

That's because its a fluid designed for 'wow' purposes, not for normal day to day uses. Get some EC6 or X1, with the aurora stuff you'll have to change every few months (expensive, and time consuming)

Was it Davido's stuff btw? His build did look pretty stunning.
