:D need to get some of that! lol

Yeah, Westvleteren is the holy grail of beer drinkers, I went there 2 days ago when I was in Belgium and picked up a case from the abbey. :) Also had glasses of Trappistes Rochefort 8 and 10 in a small café in Brussels.

But most trappist beer is really nothing like the more popular light Belgian beers, it's far stronger and darker, and shares more similarities with strong English ales.

haha you wouldn't drink that stuff if you were an alcoholic - it's 2% and has 0.8 units per can!

the reason i know, we were too curious by the shiny white and red cans, and also the fact it's a quid for 4 cans.
Tastes like dish water.

Anyway, try to get into some good old English ales - Tribute for example

From the ones you listed in the OP, you may like Tripel Karmeliet, they actually sell it in Sainsburys. Well, they do in mine anyway. Its the nicest beer ive had i think.

Hi OCUK

Recently I have fallen in love with

-duvel
-hoegaarden grand cru
-kronenbourg blanc (long time fav)
-King Cobra
-Leffe blonde
-Leffe Triple

I also love my pills lager eg

-warsteiner
-becks

So as you can tell I like my strong drinks, although not ones that taste like white spirit. :D

So going off my tastes what beer from supermarkets or beersofeurope.com can or should I try, if I can get hold I will post feedback for people interested (possibly very few people but ah well ) :D

If you like Duvel you'll like grimbergen although it is slightly sweeter.

I've recently gone onto Orval. Great malty taste and not too sweet for a high percentage ale.

Come in 8-12° variations.

Bombardier burning gold is very nice.

Wells Bombardier Burning Gold is a light, refreshing beer which will appeal to ale and lager drinkers. The ale uses the ripest parts of English Fuggles and Goldings hops to create the refreshing golden ale with a zesty, crisp citrus flavour.

I'd rather drink my own wee:p

Weihenstephaner is harder to find these days, Asda used to stock it (the clear & the cloudy bottles)
for some strange reason they stopped. You may still be able to get my fav (schofferhofer) in Aldis!
