Spec me sunglasses!

Yeah, I know I can't really buy online without doing that, I'm really just trying to find out what I need to look out for.

It seems that style, design and durability are what money buys, almost all sunglasses it seems will do the job properly...

I like the look of Oakleys though, so that's what I'm thinking so far. I think I'll go to Sunglasses Hut and see... My concern is that they'll have a huge markup over online prices.

Try in a local shop, buy online! takes some balls but you'll make the saving!

Bit dishonest... but if they're really scalping then yeah that's what I'll do. I'll maybe just show them the online price and see if they'll do a discount if it's huge.

Bah, website is filtered because it has a swearie in the name.

Anyway, Oakleys sunglasses. Are you a professional cyclist? Do you wear a baseball cap back to front and use a hands free kit? Do you like to wear bumbags? My point, oakleys are ridiculous as the aforementioned items. Just get some nondescript sunglasses that fit you face for a decent price. Avoid the stupidly overdesigned Oakleys and grotesque coloured lenses.

Bye!

I suppose if they are 'normal' lenses it's OK. The multicoloured lenses you find in a lot of Oakley's sports sunglasses are truly hideous. And don't even get me started on the orange ones!

I like simple, classic, sunglasses and clothing really. Not a fan of all this fancy coloured nonsense.

I want sunglasses that don't let in the sun and I've found that it needs to be the sports type to do that, or massive ones that look really really bad. Oakley seem like a good brand but I'll see what's what... I know the type you mean and they're crass.

I honestly don't know what to buy... I'll see in the sunglasses shop in the gallery and then see what else is around before buying them.

In all honesty I want a pair tomorrow, I want them to last for a very long time without wearing out or breaking, and I want them to look reasonable and protect my eyes...

gargoyles have the ballistic protection too

"the Ballistic Defense system not only provides 5 to 6 times greater impact-resistance, it has the capability of stopping a .22 caliber bullet at 20 feet--which exceeds the MIL-STD 622 ballistic test. The lenses are also coated with a NASA derived scratch-resistant and anti-fog coating which offers 30% more protection than conventional treatments. "

Oakleys are lovely :)

Actually, you're right. Please forgive me - How great do these look:

Hulk, I think you'd just be best nipping into any clothes shop or department store and seeing what they have. All glasses are UV rated nowadays. There's a huge array of styles out there. Sunglass Hut will probably just stock the branded stuff, when you are probably just as likely to find an unbranded style in Debenhams for a fraction of the price.
