spec me your ultimate future tech

hover boards like the ones seen in back to the future.
I'd sell my brother for one of those... or a proper jetpack.

Teleportation would mean you could build replicators (Star Trek, not Stargate), so money would become pointless as you could create whatever you needed from a pattern (the physical equivalent of copying an MP3).

no so if you are laying on the floor the car will just go over you without any possible damage. and children arent so much bigger than that so it gives them a slight chance too.

also increases the risk of head shots though don't it?

And also more damage by hitting the upper body of most people.

The only major major thing i want from the future would be perfect VR (virtual reality) games, where you are the character. It has been done kind of already but its pretty poor. An example of it would be Futurama when they go on the internet and play a video game :D

I would like my computer to do what i am thinking rather than having to repeat similar tasks over and over and over until i lose the will to live.......

Off-world colonies.
Space Elevator/Good launch platform.
FTL Drives.

Oh and a mobile that I can operate...

We should really be off-world by now. :(

In the more near future I would like to see cars become positionally aware --beyond what GPS can currently do. I'd like for it to be accurate to the centimeter. With this awareness engineers could pair a wireless communication protocol. Cars would communicate with each other on the road and perform automatic negotiation for the3 most efficient travel for all.

Saw something vaguely related being planned in the paper the other day....Car Torrent, some cars connect to the web to download information like traffic and local information depending upon the car's current GPS co-ordinates, then the car that connected to the web shares this information with other cars travelling nearby via a wireless communication protocol.

Teleportation booths that can take you anywhere in the world. Even take you to work or just to the pub(no more staggering home)

But would 'you' still be 'you' at the other end?

What if you committed a criminal act and then teleported yourself in such a way that you returned to a younger state with no knowledge of that act? Would your younger self still be accountable?

What if a fly got in the booth with you?

A VR game would be awsome, but a massive MMRPG, where you go inside a room, and into the game.

You start your own life, the game would be based on earth and people in the game would need to invent space travel, new cars, new technolgy etc.

Obviously this could go a bit wild though, as some people would want to have a cool life make money have a nice house etc.

But then there would be gangsters etc that would just steal.

Yeah pretty much like the matrix, I would sell one of my testicles for something like that.

Mastering Space travel would also be in the top of my list too.

Everybody else seems to be obsessed with pointless gadgets and gizmos (although I woudn't mind a Shagbot :D ) when the only realistic long-term goal of the Human Race is to get all the eggs out of one basket move off-world and turn earth into a nice, clean, National Park.

We should be able to colonise the Moon and Mars right now, but Governments are too blind, get worried about the cost or are to busy fighting wars over oil.

FTL travel or Ark ships should help us get out-off-system.

Just make sure we don't kill off all the hump back whales, ok? ;)

Hoverboards, those electroactive myomer polymers (like muscles, but actuated by electric current.) would be awesome if you could make yourself incredibly strong, or just kind of skin suits which enhance strength.

2 singularities? wow thats a good one!

"hey timmy what did you have for christmas?"
"a dolly"
"what would you like this christmas, you can have anything you want because you've been so good!"
