** Special Offer Creative Sound Blaster Titanium HD with Free Edifier R1600T**

I like the speakers. I need to read up on some reviews first, maybe youtube unpacking or something. I don't need a sound card though, personally think it's a waste of money and not needed in this day and age.

Maybe something to do with the first line in the OP.

They are still listed with the speakers as a free item so would assume it would be honoured.

It is a good deal considering the cheapest these speakers have been available is £60, so one is getting the soundcard for £40.

and there was me yesterday in the "instant and moment" thread asking what was a good 5.1 speaker soundcard for around £100 lol....

grr already ordered an SB Z and received it this morning though :(

why didn't I wait a day :(

maybe if you have headphones or 2.1 speakers.

with 5.1 speakers the difference between onboard realtekHD and a decent soundcard is night and day.

realtek sounds flat no matter how much you try and doesn't have much range with the BASS

Well I know I'm selling them but you are totally wrong.

Onboard sound is nothing on an a sound card. Due to problems with my PSU and windows 8.1 I sold my d2x and used on-board sound blaster card recently obtained a creative ZR and the sound quality is noticeable from hearing little footsteps from twice as far away to the fact I no longer have to turn my amplifier up above 50 to get a good volume.

Unless you use really crap headphones and speakers (which these 1600RT aren't) you will always notice the difference between on-board and separate soundcards.

Ive had two different mobos and two different sound cards; even the £20 Xonar DGX was better than the onboard on my Gigabyte.

Now on the Phoebus Xonar and still tempted by this :D

I gotta be honest, while this will no doubt annihilate a Realtek AC'97 all day long, how many people have £100 to dump on a sound card yet cannot afford a high end motherboard? I really doubt this is going to be noticeably better than the Creative Sound Blaster SupremeFX you get on a high end ASUS board.

it is.

I have a gigabyte sniper 5. The sniper 5 has a onboard Creative Sound Core3D quad-core audio processor and built-in Headphone Amplifier.

It is not as good as even a basic dedicated sound card.

You can doubt all you want it's still better. Having owned Highend Asus and Gigabyte motherboards and used Recon 3d and Supreme FX audio in several different systems. The difference is noticeable and for people who care worth it.

ontop of that You don't buy high end Asus motherboards for sound quality and unless the you are 8pack or share his passion for overclocking a high end motherboard is probably wasted on you. you could get a reasonable 4.4 4.6 haswell OC on many low end boards and have change for a soundcard which will benifit the average gamer far more than spending 200+ pounds on a motherboard with bios features the average gamer will not touch.

You may see it as a waste of money but you don't buy a soundcard everytime you buy a system you keep it till it breaks or isn't supported anymore. It's an investment that will enhance the quality of your sound that you can take with you from system to system.

This sound card RRP at 179.99 when it came out a while back it's cheaper now as Creative no longer have the license for THX.

You seem to be missing the fact it's bundled with one of our best selling speakers which come highly recommended all over this forum for £100. If that's too much for you to spend then fine. It's a cracking deal and if you factor in the speakers you will not get equal sound quality for £40

Arrived this morning ! superb delivery service. Only ordered at 4.15pm yesterday.
Haven't powered them up yet but the speakers look very sexy, sound card doesn't look bad either. :D

i hope mine comes as the package - why i ordered it really. website showed the free speakers.

i haven't used a dedicated sound card for over 15 years so will try this out on my main rig - when it's out of storage :(
