/awaits bombardment of 'FAIL' pictures :p

But yeah, that time of year again...

Think I better pull my finger out.

Fox will be pleased to see I've got a solution to number 3...

Only £60 from a motor factors too! God knows why I didn't sort it sooner.

Whats the crack with the corrosion? Off to get it welded up?

Suppose things like this are to be expected on a car of that age (especially a Rover ;)).

I was expecting the list to be as long as your arm...

A mate did weld it for me... but we ran out of time so he tack welded one side one and gave me a handful of bodyfiller.

I couldn't be bothered doing a good job, so slapped loads on and just covered in underseal :p

Serves me right tbh.

Bloody side spats are staying away from the car though. 220 had exactly the same problem. They trap moisture over the years and just rot away at the sill. Shame really as the rest of the car is solid.

Fuel tank is being changed Thursday and my mate is coming over on Friday to do the welding. Also going to change the rear calipers as one of the caliper bolts is seized. I think that is what's causing the handbrake efficiency.

Pretty miffed, I was going to put up a thread showing all the nice shiny bits I'd bought if it passed :(

You haven't seen just how small Andy is. That list IS as long as his arm ;)

Oi :(

:p

Told you it was EPIC fail before you put it in, should have covered it all in dog poo!

Buy my car, has 12 months MOT and requires no welding :p

Has a minor problem selecting gears though! :(

That's why it failed! You and Si hounding me with fail texts :(

What's wrong with yours?

They weren't very thorough at that MOT garage, they didn't even notice your car had HGF!!!:p;)

You were driving about with a leaking fuel tank?!

Nice :)

Leak was at the top of the tank... only leaked if I brimmed it (and then proceeded to jack the front of the car up). It wasn't dripping out as I was driving along, heh.

spaz, none of my cars have had HGF. I must be immune.

/grabs wood trim :D

Did my MOT last week, not a single advisory other than slightly worn discs at the front which i knew about anyway.

Nur nur :D

:( That hurts!

:D

Funny though, there were no advisories/failures on most of the stuff I thought would fail!

If that was the case, how did they know?

That's what I thought. But the underseal on the tank, a section of it looks like it's started to errode away so it's quite obvious something abrasive has been over it. Didn't even think to sort that out  Ah well, was going to get a new tank anyway so it's not a big deal.

BJ Alcock :D:D:D

Pft, bloody kids :p

unlucky mate but on the bright side at least you will have some motivation to sort it out properly. What has caused the emissions fail?

No idea. I'm really suprised at that one. It's used everyday... 40 mile trips to and from work and I get decent fuel economy on a run.

It's just had an oil change and has new plugs.

I've ordered a few new sensors, a new thermostat and bought some RedEx.

Not got time to try one thing and see if it solves it. MOT is up in a few days.
