Speed Camera Question!

Hey, Was going past a speed camera and i was at 33mph i thought i was doing 30, But i think 1 flash went off, Does it mean a fine and warning but no points right?

Kinda at unease at the moment so, Would like an answer to this, Thank you. Damn vauxhall astras.
 
No you don't get a fine for speeding without points, though you probably won't hear anything anyway for 33 in a 30.

Hrmm, Still at unease, All i can do is hope that i don't get the points.

1 flash means it is out of film, you got lucky.......
Anyway you should not have been done for 33mph indicated, as this would be about 30mph anyway.
Also my council has our GATSO's set at 37mph true speed, so a similar figure would be expected across the country, although as said they could be set at 31mph.
 
1 flash means out of film? i thought it meant you were over the limit but just inside the set allowance, therefore not taking the 2nd pic?

also, im shocked at 37 in a 30 and no it shouldnt be expected across the country, just your county ;]
 
I know of one on a strech of 50mph dual carage way that can be set off at 55mph indicated while going in the oposite direction! Some can be stupidly sensitive!
 
I know people who have been caught at 36mph. Also up here if you are under 38mph you get a fine and offered the speed awareness course for alittle extra ££ and no points.

Well what I was trying to say is that I would be suprised if the trigger was set at 31mph :p
 
dont worry u probs wont get nothing for going 33. if u do then u have to pay a tenner more to take the test but u dont get points.
 
Tenner more? If you're referring to a speed awareness course they're much more expensive than that, £90 ish IIRC?
 
Oh you meant tenner more than the fine?

From what I've just read it's £90, maybe it varies from county to county.
 
I thought it was only the radar guns the coppers have that they ran the 10% rule on?

I really wasn't paying much attention the last time they discussed it and my car's fuel consumption is too variable (10mpg out of a 1.3 is dire) to bother speeding everywhere

10% is for car speedo (in)accuracies isn't it?
 
Yeah it's normally 10% although when I had the original 13" wheels on my car it was more like 20% and that's since dropped to ~10% with 15s on.

I'm sure I heard / read somewhere though that you have an allowance when being tagged with a gun rather than the cameras etc
