That Micra posted runs a 265 bhp 350Z lump where the back seats should be, made by Nissan themselves. Impressive, but it's still an ugly duckling on steroids.
I personally couldn't drive anyhting lesser than my 206. It's not exactly safe but more so than a Saxo or an older shed of the like.
One of my main worries about cars is how resistant to impact it is. I'd rather have a safer slower car than a faster shed. Seen too many serious accidents that have happened at slow speed and I have seen some cars made into a real mess whilst being hit while stationary by another vehicle travelling around 30mph.
My 1.4 206 will pull 60mph in 2nd, but it does hit 6000rpm at that point which is not too healthy for it.
