and secondly becuase I was driving a lightly modified 911, so they guessed they could take me for more cash since it was apparent i had a few bob, although the truth is im skint! :(

Sorry, but you are either talking out of your backside (either about going to court or about being skint!) or forgetting something.

Everyone gets a form to fill in - fines are means tested. You tell them how much you earn etc and they fine you based on that. So if you were really there, your fine was "appropriate".

I though they had to send it to you within 14 days of the offence???
Even if they sent it out on the 13th day unless they used 1st class postage or registered next day delivery it is invalid due to the delivery?
Well the vehicle was registered to me last in January 2006. Before that it was registered to me as well at the same address but i changed my name by depoll, hence changed the registration. I've had no letter in the post under either name (change of surname by the way).

They have to have posted it within 14 days, I believe. You do not have to have received it within 14 days...

According to Pepipoo site I should have received it on the 15th day at the lastest for the NIP to be valid???

I doubt a tougher test would make a difference, people would just learn for longer, eventually pass it then forget everything they learn as they do now. Unfortunately people need to have a nasty crash before they learn anything. Maybe we should set up a concrete wall for people to smash a specially designed car into at 40 or they fail their test....

i agree fully.
ive been driving 12 years, im not a god but im good, had a fair range of different vehicles.
i clearly cannot of learnt anything yet as i havent had an accident that was over 10mph (both times non fault)...

now wheres that wall

Well haven't received anything in the post yet. Btw it was on the A21 and the speed limit on there is 70mph.
