Sperm donor...

Please tell me you are female  Otherwise they gonna be poking about in there up the wrong hole....

I am indeed female, worry not.

I was approved by a company for egg donation at one point. It's nearly like dating. You submit photos and life history for couples to browse in order to find someone who they think is going to be a good 'egg' so to speak. That has many flaws in itself. Just because the donor may be good looking and smart doesn't mean the kid will be :p

I first gave when I was 20 years old which means I could have loads of kids knocking on my door up to the age of 28
I often joke to my daughters that they aren't the only ones.
Obviously theres no chance of anybody turning up but I often think it would be really cool and I would look forward to it.

I don't think I could. I believe a kid should be made through a loving relationship, not for money for the latest CD or whatever :p Who knows though, if I'm ever a hobo or broke I may have a new career, they call me meatball for a reason

Once a day max ? ahhhhhhhh whaaaaaaat, their proberbly shut on weekends too so thats only 5x£25, I suppose £125 is ain't that bad for a bit of 5 against 1.

If qwerty is right then it would be once a week max considering the 5 day interval. I'm going to try looking for a job while at uni and if I can't find one this might have to be the alternative

If I can't get a job then I can't afford to go out so i'd risk sperm donating to save my social life. That thing about not drinking for 5 days is bs, if I do it then I'll just not drink for 3 days max because i'll be completely detoxed by then anyway.

Do you think Stafford hospital will have weekly sperm donation days or something?

If 2 people in the last 2 generations on my mothers side (family history) have died of a heart attack does this mean my family has a negative medical history so I couldn't donate?

lol, I can just imagine you walking around Stafford in about 19 years time and every child you pass looks like you.
A whole school of children with your face.

Haha. I don't think it would be so bad, it's not like we look identical to our parents. Besides on the off chance I did decide to become a donor theres a good chance I won't be able to do it because apparantly only 1/10 mens sperm survives the freeze/thaw process so they only want that 10% of people.

Some people say you get paid £15 + expenses, other people say it's just £15. I'd much rather do it if it was the former because if it was just £15 it would barely cover travel expenses to get to B'ham or Wolves, wherever the clinic is.

Like the whole very hairy baby situation on craggy island :D

I would do it day after day if we got paid down here and had a clinic near me :D :p

But thats only if it was used for medical research and not to give single women babys

Ok, lets look at this from another perspective.

One day, you decide to do a nice thing and give a donation. Its kind, and you're helping bring a new life into this world.
Jump forwards 20 years, and there is a knock at the door. A pale young man / woman is standing in front of you, claiming to be your biological kid. They tell you that they need a kidney / organ donation and it has to be a biological match and unfortuantely their other biological parent isn't a close enough match.

That leaves you, and a bit of a moral dilema. Me, I dont mind donating my organs AFTER i die, or to a loved one but to a stranger you've never met? On one side, its a random person you've never met, on the other if you dont donate them an organ then you are condemning them to death.

If it wasn't for you, they wouldn't be in this world and now you have a bigger decision to make on whether they live or die.
