Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Great film. Up there in the top 5 Marvel films in my opinion. I would say I'm gonna watch it again but this particular Marvel movie won't be on D + any time soon. Can't be bothered to type the good bits on spoiler tags, will wait till next week when more have seen it!

Not bothered by the people cheering and showing their enjoyment. To be honest cinema releases for big films have been like this for 10-15 years, especially for superhero films. I think it adds to the atmosphere! This who are only experiencing this for the first time must not be visiting cinemas very often!

Saw a guy taking photos of certain names in the credits. No doubt to post on the internet and spoil someone elses enjoyment :D

I think it depends when you go (and also where you live) This might be the first time I've been on opening night since Star Wars Episode 7 (and that didn't have anywhere near the audience reaction where I was) most of the time I'm seeing the films 4/5 days after release and there are maybe 20-30 people in the cinema and it's silent throughout.

Agreed, I normally watch films in the cinema in the 1st day or 2 so (today was day one of Spider-Man in Spain) I always see the audience enjoyment more. I honestly can't think of any Marvel films I've seen that didn't have fan reactions in the 1st couple of days releases over however long they've been out! That's across London, Barcelona and Madrid so maybe skewed by big cities! Your description of cinemas with 20-30 people in them is just alien (and wrong!) to me!

For people who want to avoid the noise waiting a few days make sense, but then u also risk spoilers (like in this thread :D ).

I didn't go and see it in the end, screen was pretty much full in my local cinema according to the booking site and we've still not been able to get booster jabs and the cinema seems a bit risky at the moment if I want to enjoy Christmas, Covid-free.

Will wait for the crowds to die down a bit

We watched the Tobey Maguire Spider-man at home instead for some prep, as I know Green Goblin from that movie is in this (not a spoiler as in the trailer)

It wasn't really whopping and screaming, there was a couple of cheers but just a general feeling of engagement that I've not felt before. Audible intakes of breath at certain moments. It was an absolutely great experience for me

Went last night and this was my experience, was a couple of annoying cheers but generally gasps or audible engagement at certain points.

Great film, time flew by, it was much better than Far From Home.

So in what way does the ending of this affect the maguire and garfield movies? Since the villains were "rehabbed" does that mean the events of those movies with those villains are erased?

I imagine its similar to what went on in endgame with alternative timelines, they changed something so it branches of into another timeline separate from the original two we had movies on. Maybe opens up the possibility for "sequels", Andrew could defo pull it off

Really enjoyed it when I saw it today. One of the best Marvel films, a lot of easter eggs and references, and some real tie up/arc completions for multiple character. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it; there is a lot going on; it is a busy film, but now I've had time to process a bit, I really did enjoy it. It's not 'FUN'/light-hearted in the same way as the previous two Tom Holland Spider-man films, it felt more serious in tone, but that's no bad thing.

Also leaves things pretty open for how they want to proceed moving forwards.

Really enjoyed the fact they DIDN'T de-age the older Spidermans and essentially made them older people who's own timeline/multiverse happened to run earlier than the MCU's Peter Parker; it made sense and also meant he could have mentor/more experienced assistance. Was really happy to see they did get them in. Would have loved to have seen MORE of them, or see them back again, but I guess they will maybe leave that now unless they dig into the Spiderverse again in future. Some of the jokes regarding Amazing Spiderman and the webshooters definately made me chuckle; given I was 15 when the first film came out and I loved the first 2.

Also really appreciated Dr Ock's redemption arc; he was always one of the more sympathetic villains in the past; maybe excluding Sandman.

The Miles Morales shout out/reference from Electro was cool too.

Debbie downer of an ending really; very open, but had to feel bad for PP watching Ned/MJ go their own way, with the implication he won't renew contact with them because he doesn't want to put them in harms way.

Also a shame that there'll be no Tom Hardy-Brock/Venom in the MCU, although we WILL be getting an alternate take on Venom.

As above, alternate timeline, but one where that character DOESN'T die to Spiderman, but is instead redeemed/pays their dues. The original film/timeline still happens; but there is alternate branch where the redeemed or at least de-powered villains are returned. Hopefully to happier overall lives. Opens the door for them to do alternate/live action Spiderverse films easily too; now the concept has essentially already been shown in live action.

The only issue my screen had was 2 very young kids (talking like 5-8 or something) who just couldn't sit still for more than 10min. Kept getting up and running around, crying to the mother who just swore and shouted at them to stop ruining the movie for everyone. No lady, you ruined the movie by bringing 2 very young kids knowing full well they wouldn't sit for 2-3 hours.

How were they allowed, thought it's a 12A film?
