Spiders

My human brain says they are fine and mostly just eat flies and such but my mammal/lizard brain sees them and I scream and then have to get partner to deal with it.

For some people its an irrational fear of spiders. My wife is one.

My fear of spiders is a weird one. For 99% of the time I am beyond scared of them and can't rest until either they make friends with the vacuum, a magazine or my partner takes them out for me.

but there is the 1%. I love when I see jumping spiders around the house and I don't mind their presence. I also love watching tarantulas on YouTube as I find them fascinating (Yeah yeah, I Know they're not true spiders) through a screen but not so much in person.

I just flick them outside.

Don't have an issue with them at all. It's the weirdest thing to me that people can be scared of spiders. But I totally get it because I dislike heights and that's just nuts to some people

Get quite a few around here, not sure what type it is but they usually appear pretty black all over that are about the size of a 1p or 2p coin, if I find any in doors it's usually those, those ones can really move. Very rarely do I see ones much bigger. Must be tons in the back garden, stamp the ground enough on the grass and you almost get a decent wave of them depending on the time of year. It's like a scene from arachnophobia.

Ones that love to live inside the cars wing mirrors are a pain, you leave the car for a few hours and I end up with a massive cobweb the next day. Solved that by spraying a bit of spider killer behind the wing mirror glass, haven't seen them since :D

I always keep an electric fly swatter close by, any spiders that enter this house are electrocuted on sight.

When i first moved into my house 5 years ago I left them alone because this was my thinking back then. Not sure what was the trigger but last year I felt I had enough as they got too numerous and a bit too bold. if they kept themselves to the corners of the room or mostly out of site then I wouldn't have an issue but when they grow to the size of a small mouse and are running around on the floor or directly at you then it's time to wipe them out.

Last winter I just killed all of them and I'm going the same this year. One this year was about 3-4 inches across and was a thicc boy, I surprised myself by my reaction, I just went [Will Smith]Oh, Hell No![\Will Smith] and boinked it on the head with a Maglite torch I had next to me at the time

I live in a Tower block, and it's covered in False Widow spiders. They are everywhere. Even with the windows closed they still find a way in :(

This was a dead Columbian spider that dropped out of a box of bananas I was checking a few years ago, which made a change as they are usually alive and scare the **** out of you.
With the Wanderer/Banana spider they are treated with respect as they would want a fight at +4°C in boxes of melons and was a total headcase at +10°C in bananas.

We've had a full chamber of banana's that over the weekend turned into a giant web, a container full of Wanders that got signed off by the captain and plenty of other giants from SA leaping out over the years
