Spin Tyres demo: impressive off-road physics

I can't even do one delivery of logs. I keep getting stuck... damn it's hard. :(

I found it very challenging, but a strategy that worked for me was first using the land rover to explore and find safe paths/uncloak, then the larger C truck can ford some rivers to explore further (bring a garage carraige in case you find a garage) and once you find the massive D255 truck you can pretty much go anywhere you please whether you have a trailer of long logs or not. It's pretty rad.

In short, explore, find the big trucks, and then deliver the logs. I spent at least an hour winching myself out of sticky bits while traversing the map. Real heartache, but I enjoyed tha challenge. Really good looking game too at night with the smoke in your headlights etc.

E: two gripes: camera! I hate it so much! Needs fixing. Also, using the crane is virtually impossible. Don't even try.

Is the winch a truck add on, or is it just "there" to use? I press F as the control settings say, but no pop up or winch comes available to use, any ideas?

Get the advance menu up and you will see little circles on the front and rear bumpers to click on then choose a tree. Press F after that to winch

press V or left bumper (xbox pad) to go into advanced, then click the winch point you ant to use (little white sphere) and next click on a tree to attach it to. Once it's attached go out of advanced mode (otherwise the handbrake is on) and hold F while driving like mad. Gotten me out of many a pinch today.

Finding The Hill particularly tricky. Even with the big D truck, getting logs up those bloody hills is damn near impossible. Rinses so much fuel too that I have to cart down a fuel tanker to top it up halfway along. Thinking maybe a few smaller trips with the E truck might be easier than long logging it.

Anyway, time to take a break from this before I go mad. Surprisingly addictive, and MP is fun if you can get a crew that works together and doesn't ragequit after 10mins.

Cheers, will carry on tomorrow, once I figure out how to grab logs from the lumber mill, i saw the truck next to the building but no logs near.

It definitely ought to have a starter map with shallower mud and some very simple tasks to act as a tutorial. So far it seems like a really great simulation of heavy equipment, but not a great game; I suppose it's a kind of 'Farming Simulator' for forestry. :-)

It's just behind some trees to the left if you look at the truck from the way you came. Protip: If you have a trailer, it has to be perfectly straight with your truck or it won't let you load the logs.

I've got to the same point three times with a load of logs and got stuck/fallen over. If you get stuck this much are you mucking up the mud making it even harder? It would be good if it had weather that sortof reset some of the mud, like rain makes it worse but then it dries or something.

Surely it just gets harder as youu churn up the same concentrated spots.

It does get harder as you create big ruts. Find the big D truck and use that to tow logs. I just used one to tow a) a trailer of medium logs and b) another E series truck also pulling medium logs across the river. Badass.

Anyone fancy a MP session in the week sometime? Would be much better to travel in convoy or something, save keep going back for another truck if you get stuck

This game looks so god damn great - like an actual nextgen, something we have not seen before, unlike horizons and clubs.
I hope they add lot more content to it, I am looking forward to buying this soon.

My only concern is how quickly lugging logs will become tedious.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they really put the engine to use - running your own mine would be good, a proper connected mini industry on the island.
