Nice - I assume the vents upstairs have some form of louvre to open close to give a bit of control? I think I already decided to do bedrooms 2, 3, 4 and the hallway next year and ducting would be perfect for that but the imaginary discussion I had in my head with my better half ended up with me waiting until next year for that.

Place sounds like ours which is the opposite of insulated upstairs, with Tile | Felt | Batons | Single Brick - Cold walls in winter especially in the South West Facing master bedroom and a heat trap in summer. Planning to put up a load of Celotex inside first and lose a bit of space before lookign at AC probably 2022 now.
Has anyone got any pictures of the ceiling ducted set up?
I think ceiling ducted systems are pretty rare in this country, they're mostly found in the states with the ducts serving both hot and cold air.
How is condensation dealt with in a ceiling ducted system though, won't condensation begin to form on the vent inside the room?
The preference has to be for a multi-split however, I don't fully understand why the installer has recommended this over a multi-split unit, you can drive 6 indoor units from one condenser enough for most houses.
@norm, the unit in the loft supplying all the bedroom vents deals with the condensation the same as one mounted in the room. It is still a multi split in happy_2008's case as he has one unit in his loft supplying several bedrooms and 2 wall mounted units in his downstairs (IIRC).
The benefit of the ducted system is that you don't have ugly wall boxes and the fans a in another room so you don't the noise either, I'm not sure why its not more common in the UK. It's certainly one of my requirements when I get it installed.

So have had Sub Cool FM at my property for the last 2 days and the job is finally complete Have 2 units installed and loft ducted system to all three bedrooms so bring on the summer

Not too bad thanks bud, hope you have been ok too. The service is quite quick, I think it took about 45 mins maybe 1 hour. A shame yours will be done when its potentially going to be hot! The chap had to put mine in heat mode for some time to test the temperature of it, same with the cooling mode.
I've started the spring cleaning, although finding it challenging to motivate myself this year, never had that before. I blame lockdown tbh. I can imagine moving furniture on your own a bit of a chore, especially where they dig in to carpets!

The carpet marks are great for knowing it's back in the right place though
I think they only warranty them properly if they get serviced by them as well. Bit of a con probably!
