***SPOILERS AHOY!!!*** Football 1st-5th Jan

Lol they're not even trying to hide it - Jerome on Fabianski.

3-0 - that'll do. Especially due to our draw last year, Eduardo the previous and Wigan on Tuesday.

Not watching the game but looks like a really poor preformance from us. We so good at home. We might not win a lot of games against the top four but we least get a point. I starting to worry now as we dropping down into the bottom 3. Doesn't make it better that west ham are out. We desperate of a striker in January.

What a fantastic performance from the Arsenal boys, walking through their defence with consumate ease. Please stay fit Fabregas and Van Persie

FT: 3-0

A fantastic win at quite a hard venue, 3 points and a clean sheet! This starting 11 + vermaelen could be lethal if they stay fit!

Literally the worst camerawork/angle I can ever remember seeing in the Premiership from ESPN HD @ St. Andrews. Truly abysmal, they had some camera on the halfway line that just panned left and right, barely zooming at all when the ball was on the far side the pitch. Could hardly see the opening goal.

Sort of thing I expect from an FA Cup tie at a non-league club, to be frank.

Meh, that wasn't a nice banning. :D

Anyhow, glad to get the three points, but I really thought that we were going to get diddled like at St Andrews. Shocking that Brum didn't have enough left in the tank to keep going against Arsenal eh?

But then after today i'm getting used to it. We got the same West Brom that took a point at OT, but (shockingly) not the same one that went to Stamford Bridge to hand Chelsea their three points and a bottle of bubbly.

Still, I guess it's all part and parcel of the league. I just don't get why the FA can fine teams for not fielding "full strength" lineups, yet they let some teams go to certain games and not give anywhere near 100%. Fairness and all that... ;)

what a result, imagine where we would be if van persie, and fabregas had of been fit all season, probably 6 points clear on top no doubt ;)

van persie needs to stay fit!

Liverpool were still woeful today. I haven't been to a home game in months but went today to see old pals.

The midfield is still bypassed regularly by long hoofs up to Torres.
The team doesn't seem to know what to do tactically- runs just aren't being made like they were.
There isn't one player who, when he gets the ball, you think might create a chance.

If Bolton had been on better form we would have lost today. End of.

I can see two spankings ahead vs ManU and Everton....

Van Persie was utter garbage today, he improved towards the end but, his touch was poor, he should have on an average day scored 4, his goal was deflected and followed 2-3 woeful freekicks, his passing was almost all woeful, his movement, workrate and the penalty he should have conceded.

How anyone can take todays game and suggest had he been fit somehow our season would be different.

Last year he came back from injury and in his first gaem(was it against Spurs maybe?) he came on late and was just pure class from his first touch. This season he's come back, he's been incredibly poor, maybe he's not really fit or carrying an injury, his touch is poor, his passing is mostly poor, his shooting has been poor.

Nasri, form of his life, again rubbish, inside the box, not at all bad though he ignored several chances to shoot and his pass for Wilshire was pretty woeful. Had he put it low and infront of Wilshire, its a simple goal, instead he put it behind him and high though he probably should have shot himself. Nasri was poor bringing the ball out of defence, slow, insists on running the ball into dead ends, was largely completely either useless or anonymous for 85minutes of the game again.

If it wasn't for Fabregas we could have struggled badly today. Nasri's goal was 100% down to Fabregas, not only did Fabregas win the ball, the pass from Nasri straight back to him(fast becoming the standard Nasri pass) was awful, but for Fabregas's marauding run forwards, getting to the ball first and most importantly he carried on the run which dragged Dann out of the way for Nasri to shoot.

For Fabregas shot/own goal again it was all Fabregas, Nasri running around in circles, Fabregas lays on an inch perfect pass for Nasri, Fabregas makes the run and takes the shot.

It was again strange to see, quite randomly Nasri switched to the left wing while Arshavin played on the right, why on earth has he suddenly decided to switch Arshavin to his weakest position I don't know.

Likewise, rather than drop certain players for the next game, at 2-0 with 35-40mins to go we could easily have taken off Fabregas, Nasri and rested them but Wenger just goes on and makes them play the full game, and sicknote upfront aswell, for no real reason.

These are games any other sane manager would take of Fabregas, RVP, Nasri and put on guys like JET, Vela, whoever, and actually give people a rest. Instead he leaves on the most important players who if they get injured, we're screwed, and he brings on the guys he's going to want to start next game.

RVP over his last 3-4 games, shouldn't be starting, hasn't worked in a 4-5-1 at any stage and has looked woeful this season so far.

This is our yearly busy period, where we pick up injuries and ruin our entire season late Jan and Feb, every single year, and Wenger still doesn't learn.

Pointlessly dropped points against a crap 10 man wigan because rather than take Fabregas off at 65minutes against a epically failing Chelsea, he decides ignoring the next game and then making sweeping changes would work fine, despite failing repeatedly for years on end.

Next Wednesday is City for Arsenal which should be interesting.

City are starting to win slowly but consistently, i.e. the investments are paying off. They have a great away record whereas our home one isn't brilliant - though most recently we beat Chelsea at Ashburton. However they were in a bit of a slump at the time.

At the end of the season I think this will be part of the 3rd and 4th spot decider between ourselves, Spurs and City even though atm it's between 2nd and 3rd. Brilliant that we have Cesc back who played 90 mins today; bar any last minute freak injuries we should line up as strong as possible except for Vermaelen.
