***SPOILERS AHOY!!!*** Football 1st-5th Jan

Too late for Chelsea to start getting back into form? Would be pretty cool seeing them in the Europa league. lol.

Chelsea
Chelsea have a very good team. They have arguably one of the best managers in the Premier League (I believe that only Fergie is better). Providing they don't get rid of Ancelotti, Chelsea will outscore Man Utd for the rest of the season. The problem for Chelsea is that they have too much ground to make up. It's not impossible, but its very difficult for Chelsea to win the title now.

Liverpool
What Hodgson is doing to Liverpool right now just isn't right and perhaps it might be an idea if he himself goes to the board and admits that it just isn't working out and leaves. Hodgson isn't a bad manager, but sometimes, things just aren't meant to be... he has had 5 months and things don't seem to be improving.

With regards to Liverpool becoming a major footballing super power again, if they want to, they will need to hire Mourinho on a long term basis and promise him any thing he wants (funds allowing). I can't see how they can win the league for at least another decade, without Mourinho as their manager. If I were them I would come to an arrangement with him that the moment he leaves Madrid (no matter when that is), he will be immediately installed as Liverpool manager, with the agreement that whoever is managing Liverpool at the time, will stand aside immediately. As time progresses, Liverpool's standing as a big name club is vanishing. In time, decent players will not want to join them (unless they compensate them financially, which I don't think Liverpool are able to do) and there is a very real danger of this happening.

lol at the liverfail fans shouting abuse at Roy. Sky Sports News just showed a clip of a few fans giving the fingers and you can tell exactly what they were saying. lol.

Commentators on the channel I was watching were saying how the fans feel sorry for their manager just as they showed that. Spot on, idiots.

Well plenty of slurs/finger gestures to Roy, Well ive said from the start Roy wasnt right for the job he has proved it. ALL the players have under performed. Players like aurlio who do perform very well get droped? Roys Fault.

Gerrard missing a pen not his fault but its very rare he misses them anyway. He needs to go he hasnt clicked with liverpool his tactics dont work, Players dont seem to be able to do the "Lets play like fulham" He wants money? HA I dont want him buying players especialy if its players no disrepesct like Carlton Cole who wont help us in anyway shape or form.

Konchesky is just laughable like Poulson - Both his players he brought in.

City are so dull they have one game plan against the "top 4" sit back and defend defend defend. Scared of actually playing football.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. The strategy you have outlined is working for them - the are 2nd in the league.

What City have to do is get their 0-0 draws with the top 4 and attempt to get 3 points from the lesser teams. If they finish top 3 this season, this will be a good result. Gradually, they will gain consistency, confidence and will begin to aim to beat the top 4.

David Silva out with a knee injury. Brilliant. There goes our Fabregas. Guess its going to be shut out and counter then, sorry in advance :(

+1

As said earlier would bite a hand off for a point. Spurs loosing, Chelsea loosing, still second, all in all not a bad nights work :)

Well played Everton.

Our 2nd half performance was atrocious. Utterly inept.

^

Coleman looks a great player.

I think 'Arry should have brought Palacios on for Jenas, we left far too much space and were 2nd to almost every ball.

What a night to be a United fan. I don't want to start making assumptions about winning the title, but if United win the game in hand we will be 6 points clear of City, 7 clear of the Arse, and 12 clear of Chelsea!

Bets on waking up tomorrow to find Ancelloti and Hodgson have both been sacked?

only 2nd due to playing an extra game (in all liklihood)

All square you are 3rd by a point (still a good position - but shouldnt really fool yourself either :))

Exactly.

Coleman MoM.

Jenas at the other end of the scale.

Disco Benny was terrible too.

EDIT: Oh, and Saha was great. Some fantastic close play.

Sorry pal but you sound far too sensible and reasoned for this place..

Picking up points against lesser teams is finally something we're sorting this season. And we beat Chelsea when they were actually good, too :D If we finish top 3 this season (I know top 4 is expected but we're all just expecting straight 4th) I would be absolutely over the frikkin moon.

Incredibly frustrating. If that chance right at the start had been put in it would have been a totally different game but instead it was 90 mins of men versus a well parked bus.
