Spoilers Ahoy!!! Football 22 - Jan 2011

Average from the games played so far.

Realistically United wont keep gaining points like they are doing, the games at Liverpool and Chelsea will most likely both be defeats barring some miracle, and City will come and park the bus to be the second team to get a draw at OT this season.

I really can see you going all the way unbeaten this season. The only teams I think have any chance of beating you are those SAF underestimates and they come out, don't lay down to take it up the rear and actually cause an upset. You'll play too well against the Liverpools and Chelseas. Worst case scenario against them would end up a draw. I really wish our game against you was at the end of the season where the outcome wouldn't effect our positions, would probably be the only thing to get Mancini to aim to win rather than aim for you not to win. Unfortunately I am expecting another park the bus performance.

Maybe you should read what you're quoting next time?

There was previous posts talking about whether not Bent could make it at the biggest clubs in England, and I said Bent is like Shevchenko in that he has mainly played in teams that are built around him rather than vice versa, and he clearly expects this to be the case at Villa as per his post-match comments. He could not be accomodated in this way by the Man Uniteds or Chelseas in the league, so it leads me to believe that he is not suited to these bigger clubs in both his playstyle and egotistical mentality.

I presume you didn't see the interview?

I don't think that's true to be honest, I think Bent would score stacks of goals for any of the top sides. He doesn't need a team built around him, he's a finisher and nothing more. Further to that, you said Shevchenko played mainly as a lone striker in a team built around him which patently isn't true (on either count).

Out of two?

id give her one ;)

i think united can go unbeaten too - tbh no other team is playing that well and their defence is tight compared to what it was earlier in the season. realistically man utd have to lose to arsenal and man city and maybe lose another two games for any other team to have a chance - i really cant see that happening. and teams like arsenal and city will lose a game or two aswell - it really is uniteds to lose. and we all know they get stronger towards the end of the season.

It's too early in the season still but here's the maximum possible points for each team who could win it.

United - 96
Arsenal - 91
Man City -87
Chelsea - 86
Spurs - 83

So some teams need to put some very good runs together very quickly realistically.

Further to that, you said Shevchenko played mainly as a lone striker...
Again, read what you're quoting:

At Dynamo Kiev, and to a lesser degree A.C. Milan, the teams were built around him as the lone striker/target man and he slotted in impressive amounts, much like Bent has.
A slash '/' typically means 'or'; it does not mean 'and'. The point is that Shevchenko was always the focus of the attack whether he was alone or had a supporting striker with him.

...in a team built around him which patently isn't true (on either count).
The BBC's Sam Lyons and "Italian football expert" John Foot said:
"He was the main man. The team was built around him, to suit his needs as a striker, and it paid dividends. You saw the best of Shevchenko as a result."

Conditions, of course, that Shevchenko did not enjoy at Chelsea.

Some interesting articles from the daily mail (not the best source i know) regarding sky sports duo Keys and Gray for sexist comments towards the female official Sian Massey for the wolves vs pool game.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...dy-Grays-sexist-diatribe-female-linesman.html

There is a recording of what they said in the article. what a bunch of numpties!! I thought she did a good job and deserves another chance - hopefully these comments will give enough ammunition to sky to sack them both.

Also Graham poll has given his 2p on it all - very interesting read. Seems like Richard Keys is a nasty piece of work.....

doubt they will get sacked - their comments arent correct by any means but even if they dont continue those kind of comments will continue , even if its not in the studio. She had a very good game by all accounts, and thats what matters most

Really hope to see more professional female refs/ assistant refs in the EPL (on merit) in the future.

Bolton/Chelsea up soon.

No Lampard for Chelsea. I think this is the game that can make or break chelsea. If they draw and lose to bolton at this point of the season, then things just keep getting worse for them.

To add to injury, Chelsea have only won once away from home in over 2 months.
