Spoilers Ahoy!!! Football 22 - Jan 2011

Giggs, Hernandez and Anderson were bloody super subs tonight. You could see there was no way Blackpool could have kept that up all night, their pressing in the first half was phenomonal. Hope Rafael gets better soon, he's excellent for us and we look poorer without him.

no disrespect but the break with Rafael advantaged Blackpool in two ways

1) much less attacking threat from hia replacement

2) and more importantly, they had a 5 /6 mimute breather to get reorganised

without that Utd could have scored a few more

I suspect it's only concussion. He got up and walked about before going down again so it's unlikely he's got any neck injuries.

No disrespect, but the horrendous Referring, basically handed united the match.

Blackpool ran out of gas badly though.

Really not sure what SAF was thinking with that selection. Starting a less than 100% fit Scholes, alongside Fletcher whose been awful all season, seemingly having his own private experiment to see whose the worst make shift left winger out of Gibson and Rooney (turns out its Gibson), breaking up the front partnership that's been working so well (when Rooney was on left)...
With Southampton in the cup coming up, surely that was the match to rest players and make changes - not away from home where we have been so poor. And it's especially odd that Giggs didn't start after being taken off so early last week, certainly considering his omission meant playing people out of position on the left, players who are quite one footed.

Hahah, can anybody hear that woman singing on her own?

3-0!! We're FINALLY going to Wembley! :D

I used to sit a few rows behind her at Highbury. She would shout "Come on you GUUUNNNNEEEERRRS" and the bloke behind me would shout "Shut up you trout". Every match. It was funny the first time, not quite so funny the 100th time.

I seem to recall Soccer AM putting together a montage of her efforts, then tracked her down and interviewed her.

ok fair enough, but blackpool gained from poor refereeing too- the foul against Evra in 1st half that left his cheek bleeding badly apart from a few others

Blackpool also missed a fair few decent chances too

Anyway Utd have City (h), Chelsea & Liverpool (a) coming up fast , all are massive threats

How consistent is Wenger? Always out of the group stages of Europe, always a top four finish and more times in latter stages of the FA cup and League cup than anyone else.

Phew what a game!

Regarding team selection I can understand why we went in with the 4-3-3/4-5-1 after the drubbing we got at WBA but he obviously got it wrong as Giggs changed the game for us from the second he came on.

Rooney really needs to take a look at himself, he did it at Spurs when he was pushed out wide but he looked totally disinterested until we moved him inside and SAF was totally vindicated on taking him on and bringing Hernandez on at this rate Rooney will be struggle to keep Chicharito out of the team

I'd still rather we pick up a trophy from time to time. I.e. get right to the finish line in at least one competition.

I know where you are coming from re rooney, however Utd and SAF dont know how Chicharito will perform out wide either in those situations + its probably hard for Rooney while he is struggling to keep on being shifted around, its not easy when he is on form let alone now
