Nope. That's where he wanted to play (apparently) and the media thought he should played. Quite funny because the same media have been calling for him to be played behind Rooney for England for years because it's his best position.

Uh huh. Sagna at left back, no Alex Song, no van Persie, no Nasri though he's on the bench... these games are must wins, we need to keep on putting pressure on Utd and when they are drawing their away games we need to keep winning ours, this isn't exactly the best looking team.

No. That's where Andy Gay keeps saying he should play. Not only has Gerrard been at his most effective when playing off the front, Torres also looks at his best when Gerrard plays just off of him.

And like Pigeon touched on in his first post, one of the few positives from the last few games has been the Lucas-Meireles partnership in the middle too.
 
Gerrard walking back into CM is hardly a surprise. He's probably as influential over the team selections as Roy Hodgson is.

It's a pretty big problem at the club.
 
Arshavin has been poor this season and again tonight.
Looked like Koscielny pulled his leg away and N'Zogbia dived to me.... :/
 
Rubbish in quite a few different ways. That was a dive. I fully expect an Eduardo file created on the Wigan ****. Oh wait...

So well done Arsene, completely undo the work done against Chelsea by fielding Diaby and Denilson. Wigan are running right into our defence it's pathetic.
